Acid reflux secondary to a lax lower esophageal sphincter (LES) or Hills grade 1 and 2 is quite common and can be quite debilitating for certain patients. Many people are apprehensive about undergoing Nissen fundoplication. Fortunately, there are alternative endoscopic procedures available, such as GERD-X procedures. This study hypothesized that the left access is superior to the right access in terms of catheter malposition after ultrasound-guided infraclavicular SVC due to the asymmetry of the bilateral brachiocephalic veins" Shin et al (2024).
