Every 10 minutes, a woman is killed. Today marks the beginning of #16daysofactivism against gender-based violence, a time to reflect on the epidemic of violence against women and girls that results in 1 in 3 experiencing violence in their lifetime. Over the coming 16 days, we will be highlighting how Restorative Justice could help achieve the Government's goal to reduce VAWG by 50% in a decade. Today, we commemorate 25 years of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. This day is not just a marker on the calendar—it’s a call to action! As we remember the legacy of the courageous Mirabal sisters and honor all victims and survivors of gender-based violence, we are reminded of the urgency to act. Gender-based violence is not a distant issue; it permeates every corner of our societies, affecting millions worldwide. In homes, workplaces, communities, and even in places meant to provide safety, women and girls continue to face disproportionate risks. Ending violence against women requires systemic change—challenging cultural norms, ensuring accountability, and creating safe, inclusive environments. It also demands that each of us examine our role in perpetuating or dismantling these systems of harm. Let us strengthen our commitment to creating a future where no woman or girl has to live in fear, where their rights and dignity are upheld, and where they can thrive without the shadow of violence. Together, we can #EndVAW and #EndGBV. 📢 The time to act is now! Amplify the voices of survivors, and advocate for transformative change. Every voice matters in building a safer world for all. #OrangeTheWorld #GenderEquality #HumanRights #StopViolenceAgainstWomen #EmpowermentForAll

1moQuite ironic since you have workers who hold Family Violence Restraining orders working in the public, BGIS needs to uphold its values in this area.
