Since the closure of the Missouri open pit in April this year, OBM has been focused on rehabilitation of the Missouri waste rock landform. Parts of this landform date from mining in the mid 1980’s and with the recent mining efforts OBM have successfully reshaped this landform into the surrounding environment. Phase 1 has been completed, which included contour ripping with the utilisation of seed-rich topsoil and recent tree trash habitat materials. This will form the stable base for phase 2, which will be to conduct drone seeding with local native plant seeds. At OBM we are committed to progressive rehabilitation and look forward to watching the plants grow and native fauna return to the site!
Post of the day ☺️ love this initiative. Well done team OBM
Good News, Reforestation is the process of reforesting so that nature becomes green and is usually carried out in forests that have become bare so that they can function properly.
Well done OBM, great to see.
Solid job - looks fantastic!!!

3wKaya. Great work. OBM. Time to throw my hat into the ring. Rehabilitation! You have created a new landform. When was it “ habilitated” to require “rehabilitation”? Secondly, you talk of “tree trash”. It was not trash originally, but now it is called trash. That is disrespecting its original function and Cultural significance. You have got what you want, cleared the landscape, and what is left, you call trash. It is actually a very valuable resource and should be respected as such. High time for the dialogue to change around “ rehab”. You are Healing Country! The Country must be respected. Yaangka.
