👨⚕️Amazing is this officer. 👉The project leader and teamleaders were on board for job inspection and said this on meeting the senior officer. 👉The project leader said, This officer's projects works on budget, and not on approvals. He gives the budget and you have to work in his budget. So nothing to worry. Let’s go on. 👉The project leader introduced the teams to senior officer by saying this. 👨⚖️Another officer came up saying, you people are fantastic, in 2 days the jobs are almost completed. Well done. #shipbuilding #shiprepair #marine #marineindustry

Recently I celebrated my 1 year at Yandi Rail. My BHP journey started 3 years ago when Terry Gladwell recruited me as NPI Maintenance Administrator knowing that I had TRANSFERABLE SKILLS and a drive to succeed, less than 12 months later I transitioned into my 2nd role as NPI Village Operations Supervisor. This was my GOAT Role - using my people skills, empathy, and passion for ensuring that anyone who is a FIFO has the best home away from home they can have with a family like no other - OUR BHP YANDI FAMILY! I hit the Jackpot when it came to leadership from Terry Gladwell to Matt Azzollini. 2 leaders who constantly challenged me , supported me but more importantly never let me lose sight of my potential. I then transitioned into Rail for a challenge like no other, a department foreign to me , leading an actual team, going into a male dominated section of the business ( I am the only female supervisor at Yandi Rail) but I used my transferable skills and haven’t looked back. As I see previous workmates suffering uncertainty in the current market, I thought I would share what transferable skills are and take the leap and try something different - You might just find that it’s your new GOAT Role! Transferable skills can be applied across various jobs and industries, enhancing the YOU APPEAL Organisational and Execution Skills -Time Management Efficiently managing time to complete tasks, especially in fast-paced environments. - Research and Analytics Gathering, analyzing data, and reporting findings with recommendations. - Administration and Clerical Handling tasks like filing, paperwork, communications, and managing schedules. - Financial Management Developing and managing budgets, maintaining financial records, and fundraising. - Sales and Marketing Marketing products/services and influencing behavior. - Creative Thinking Generating innovative ideas and solutions. - Planning Organizing resources and creating plans for projects or events. -Technology or Digital Literacy Adapting to and using new technologies and tools. Communication Skills - Listening Understanding and interpreting communicated information. - Writing Crafting reports, emails, letters, and other written communications. - Face-to-Face Facilitating meetings, interviewing, persuading, negotiating, and public speaking. People Skills -Co-operation Collaborating effectively with others on projects or tasks. - Empathy Understanding and relating to others' perspectives. - Patience Handling challenging situations, repeating processes, and making thoughtful decisions. - Flexibility Adapting to new situations or changes as needed. Leadership Skills - Prioritisation and Delegation Determining the order of tasks and assigning them appropriately. - Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving Analyzing problems and devising solutions. - lCoaching, Mentoring, and Feedback Supporting and encouraging team members to achieve goals and improve performance BHP Terry Gladwell Matthew Azzollini

Read the ADVERT, not just the JOB TITLE!! 📖 Attention to detail is a standard skillset for most positions across various industries. It's crucial to understand that job titles can be deceiving, and the sector and requirements can vary significantly. For instance, the role of a Project Manager can differ vastly based on the industry and company. A Construction Project Manager and an IT Project Manager have distinct skill sets and responsibilities. It's essential to delve deeper into the specifics of a job role rather than relying solely on the title. Remember, titles can be misleading, and the actual job functions may vary widely. Don't risk appearing irrelevant by applying for positions that don't align with your expertise. Take the time to understand the intricacies of each role before submitting your application. #rantover #dontlookstupid #attentiontodetail

It's easy to get caught up in titles - project manager, manager, or even technician. It's important to be clear on the specific outcomes, responsibilities and skills you need for a position in your company. Excellent article distinguishing between a 'pure' manager and a 'working' manager and the importance of hiring the right fit. Click the link in the comments to read the full article.

Customer service can make or break an experience, and this is true in the planning, design and construction of airports as well. I'm SO thankful for and proud of our C&S team that brings value to our clients on a daily basis. I want others to meet our Great Lakes group, get to know them on a personal level, know that we are client-centric, and understand that your projects and people will get the attention they deserve with us. Round 3 highlights Nicholas G. Makhlouf, P.E. out of our Michigan office. Your role at C&S By title, I am a Project Engineer. To summarize and better define my role at C&S, I manage projects (design/construction) and clients and have the privilege to serve as a supervisor to a great team of young engineers. What do you like to do outside of work? -Outside of my professional life I enjoy spending time with my family and continuing to create memories together. -I enjoy being outdoors and being active; fishing, hunting, golfing, boating, working out, and some good old fashioned yard games – especially in the summer! -I recently noticed that that I have inadvertently fallen into the stereotype of a mid-thirty’s male with some of my newer interests being history-based documentaries and smoking meat How do you personally bring value to our clients? -Bringing my true authentic self to the table each day and showing that my focus and actions are with their best interest in mind -By listening to what is important to them, what their concerns are, and what their vision for success is, and in my capacity, operate in a way that helps them achieve their version of success. It’s their home and I have the privilege of helping them build it to best suit their needs! -Clear and timely communication -Ensuring that projects delivered to the client, both design and construction, are of the highest quality possible and meets their expectations What do you like about working at airports? I can’t really comment on any other industry since I have spent my entire professional career in the airport industry, but in my biased opinion, the people in the aviation industry are one of the reasons I like working at airports and in the aviation industry the most. Whether its professional organizations like ACC or AAAE, airport; authorities, boards, managers, operations crews, or other consultants in the industry, everyone cares and everyone plays nice in the sandbox working together to achieve the same goal. Another thing I like most about working at airports is the constant variety of projects and learning opportunities. Airports are like mini cities, and in some cases make up a majority of their respective city, and because of that, they have similar infrastructure and maintenance needs as a municipality. One day you could be designing a taxiway reconfiguration and the next you’re helping to develop a financial plan to help secure funding for a SRE building expansion. It never gets stale!
