We're proud to share the news of our collaboration with SOLAR MEMS, a premium provider of reliable and accurate star trackers and solar sensors for spacecraft manufacturers. We'll be integrating the SOLAR MEMS nanoST as part of the sensor suite of our highly autonomous SW-centric reentry capsule, named Kestrel. The nanoST will ensure accurate navigation while in orbit, and will be key in the avionic architecture of Kestrel. We'll fly SOLAR MEMS nanoST starting with our first Kestrel reentry vehicle mission, with the goal of bringing it back to Earth safe and sound to analyze it after flight. Thanks SOLAR MEMS for trusting us as a partner, and looking forward to going to space (and back) together!

Ring Laser Gyroscopes (RLGs): They are vital in modern rocket guidance and navigation systems due to their precision and reliability. Operating on the Sagnac effect, RLGs use two laser beams traveling in opposite directions around a closed loop. The rotation of the gyroscope induces a phase shift between the beams, which is analyzed to determine angular velocity. This technology offers high accuracy, no moving parts, and robustness, making RLGs ideal for the harsh conditions of space. In rockets, RLGs are crucial for attitude control, stabilizing the rocket and ensuring it follows the correct trajectory during launch, ascent, and orbit insertion. They are integral to inertial navigation systems (INS), which combine data from RLGs and accelerometers to provide comprehensive navigation information. Used in launch vehicles, satellites, manned spacecraft, and interplanetary probes, RLGs enable precise orientation control and autonomous navigation without external references. Their compact size and durability further enhance their suitability for various aerospace applications, ensuring the success and safety of missions. By processing real-time data from RLGs, onboard guidance computers can make necessary adjustments, maintaining the rocket's correct trajectory and orientation throughout its mission.

Not only is Tular designed for commercial use in Space for Active Debris Remediation, but it also has military applications for the United States Space Force. This innovative technology is poised to make a significant impact in both the commercial and military sectors. Stay tuned for further updates on Tular's progress in space! #Tular #SpaceTechnology #ActiveDebrisRemediation #USspaceforce
Target Arm is very proud to be competitively selected to submit a full proposal as the final R&D step for using Tular on the International Space Station National Laboratory (ISS). Target Arm has been granted US Patents for using Tular in the air, under water and in space. For this project, Tular will face-forward and be used for Active Debris Remediation (ADR) in Space. Low Earth Orbit is getting highly cluttered and dangerous, and new technologies are desperately needed to "clean" the hundreds of thousands of debris objects in orbit. Tular is a promising technology to do just that due to its unique capture mechanism, precision location/tracking system and our Sensor Fusion Engine. This opportunity is with the Center for the Advancement of Science in Space (CASIS) as part of the National Laboratory and will encompass testing inside the ISS with Astronauts. Our implementation partner is Nanoracks. All Target Arm R&D, whether in the air, water or space are additive and complementary - any R&D in one medium immediately improves performance in the other two! Space is a vast new economic opportunity for decades to come for Target Arm. #autonomy #space #drones #robotics #targetarm
