Embracing mindfulness over resolutions? As we welcome the new year, it's common to feel the weight of resolutions and the pressure to make drastic changes. But what if we approached this year with kindness towards ourselves? Resolutions should be a guide to enrich our lives, not a stick to measure ourselves against. And by shifting mindset from "I have to" to "I get to," we open doors to opportunities rather than obligations. Being kind to yourself isn't an endurance test – it's a journey toward greater happiness and fulfilment in this new chapter of life. We asked our registered mental health nurse, Paul Lefever, on what he believes being kind to yourself truly means. Take a look below. #Mindfulness #SelfCare #MentalWellbeing . . . . While Brickel and Associates Founder, Robyn Brickel, continues her time out of the office until October 7, we want to highlight the significance of nurturing your own mental health and self-care. In a world that often demands so much of our time and energy, it's important to recognize that recharging our mental and emotional batteries is vital for optimal functioning. Investing in ourselves allows us to cultivate resilience, creativity, and overall happiness. This time off can lead to insights that might be missed in the hustle of everyday life. Consider taking a moment each day to assess how you recharge. Do you have favorite activities that bring you peace and joy, such as reading, hiking, or practicing mindfulness? Do you take the time to disconnect from your daily routine and reflect on what truly matters? It’s crucial to carve out these moments for self-care, nurturing both your mind and spirit. As Robyn models this practice, let’s all take inspiration from her example and make self-care a dedicated part of our lives.

Yesterday, I met another coach for coffee. While waiting, I was captivated by a small, delightful scene: a bird digging a tiny hole and nestling itself there. It was a gentle reminder of how serene and grounding the present moment can be. As I watched, I couldn't help but think of Eckhart Tolle's words, 𝑹𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒛𝒆 𝒅𝒆𝒆𝒑𝒍𝒚 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒎𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒊𝒔 𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆. In that moment, nothing else mattered. Just the bird and its peaceful intent. 𝐁𝐢𝐫𝐝𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐧𝐮𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐛𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐭𝐬: 🪶provides a mindful escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. 🪶observing birds encourages stillness and reflection, allowing us to connect with nature and ground ourselves. 🪶has been shown to reduce stress and anxiety, offering a break from the constant chatter of our minds. 🪶can enhance our mood, fostering a sense of joy and wonder that can be refreshing and invigorating. Simply taking a moment to watch a bird dig a hole or flutter about can be a gentle yet powerful practice in mindfulness. It's a beautiful reminder that peace can often be found in the simplest of moments, making birdwatching an accessible and easy practice for mental well-being. "You, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection." - Buddha **Prioritizing Self-Care: Nurturing Your Mental Well-Being** Today, let's reflect on these profound words as we prioritize self-care in our journey towards nurturing mental well-being. #SelfCare is a foundational pillar of mental health, encompassing practices that nourish our physical, emotional, and spiritual selves. In a world that often demands our constant attention and energy, taking time to care for ourselves is not only essential but transformative. Let's embrace self-care as an act of self-love and compassion. Whether it's practising mindfulness, setting boundaries, or engaging in activities that bring us joy, let's prioritize behaviours that replenish our energy and restore our balance. #Share in the comments below your favourite self-care rituals and how they contribute to your mental well-being. Here are a few of mine: Starting each day with #MorningMeditation helps centre me while reflecting on #Gratitude before bed brings contentment. Engaging in #Planting activities connects me with nature, fostering relaxation and joy. These rituals nurture my mental well-being, guiding me towards clarity, serenity, and a deeper sense of fulfilment. 💙 Let's inspire each other to make self-care a non-negotiable part of our daily routines. Remember, by investing in our well-being, we not only enhance our quality of life but also cultivate the resilience and strength needed to navigate life's challenges with grace and ease. #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth #SelfCare #PrioritizeYourself #WellBeing #MentalHealthMatters

Are you really taking care of your mind? 💭 I recently did a survey on well-being, and what I found left me surprised (and a little worried) Around 50% weren’t fully aware of what emotional and mental well-being really means And even fewer know how to tackle the challenges Many of us are so caught up in daily life that we miss the signs until it feels like we’re just “getting by” instead of thriving.. But every problem has a solution isn't? First step starts with awareness Are you aware of your emotional and mental well-being? Take a moment for yourself and fill the survey : https://lnkd.in/gyKiYwTP This will not only help you to be aware ,also it will help me to create more content, challenges and programs to help people tackling those challenges. #wellbeing #emotionalwellness #mentalhealth #awareness #selfcare #mindfulness #empowerment #positivity #life #healthyliving #anjaliferwani

Day 82 - "I make decisions with clarity and confidence" Our next post in the "100 days until Christmas countdown" this year and with the lens that we see the world in, its never too early to celebrate the lead up to this years Christmas and never to early to set some festive end of year habits. This years theme is the use of Affirmations so every day in the lead up to the 25th December, well be sharing an AFFIRMATION that you could start using daily as part of your MENTAL GAME routine. Say the affirmation 10 times, say it with conviction and say it with belief. Check in with how you feel and then go on with your day. Day 82 - "I make decisions with clarity and confidence" Your MIND matters, work on it daily! #selfcare #mentalwellness #wellbeingjourney #mindfulness #positivityiskey #mentalhealthmatters #wellnesswarrior #selflovejourney #emotionalwellbeing #healthyliving #psychology #wellbeing #recovery #instagood #happy
