https://lnkd.in/gCCMMY8B Article title: Cardiac involvement in sarcoidosis: Evolving concepts in diagnosis and treatment Author(s): Joseph P Lynch III*; Michael C Fishbein; Jason S Bradfield; John A Belperio Journal: Journal of Cardiovascular Medicine and Cardiology Journal ISSN: 2455-2976 Abstract: Clinically evident cardiac involvement has been noted in at least 2 to 7% of patients with sarcoidosis, but occult involvement is much higher (> 20%). Cardiac Sarcoidosis (CS) is often not recognized as an antemortem, as sudden death may be the presenting feature. Cardiac involvement may occur at any point during the course of sarcoidosis and may occur in the absence of pulmonary or systemic involvement. Sarcoidosis can involve any part of the heart. The prognosis of CS is related to the extent and site(s) of involvement. #Sarcoidosis #Cardiac #VentricularArrhythmias #AtrioventricularBlock #Cardiomyopathy #ImplantableCardioverterDefibrillator #ICD #CardiacMagneticResonance #CMR #PositronEmissionTomography #PET #CoronaryArteryDiseases #ValvularHeartDisease #Electrophysiology #CardiacElectrophysiology #Echocardiography #InterventionalCardiology #ClinicalCardiology #NuclearCardiology #AcuteCoronarySyndromes #ArrhythmiaEP #CVImaging #CVDPrevention #CardiacArrhythmias #Peertechz #PeertechzPublications #OpenAccess #ScientificJournals #PeerReviewedJournals #OpenAccessPublishers #CardiacPhysiology #CardiacRegeneration #CardiacRehabilitation #Cardiomyopathies #CardiovascularDrugs #CardiovascularTherapy #CardiovascularAnatomy #CongenitalHeartDefects

https://lnkd.in/gTN6-8XQ Article title: Aspirin is used to mitigate the increasing frequency of marathon-related cardiac arrests Author(s): Arthur J Siegel* Journal: Journal of Cardiovascular Medicine and Cardiology Journal ISSN: 2455-2976 Abstract: Male gender and the marathon were shown to be independent and significant risk factors for cardiac arrest in United States road races in a 10-year registry beginning in 2000, during which events increased in frequency during the latter half of the study [1]. Fifty-nine fatalities in runners with an average age in the mid-40s indicate excess pre-mature acute mortality despite an overall incidence of 1 per 100,000 participants. #CardiacTroponin #Aspirin #CardiacArrest #Atherothrombosis #PrimaryCardiovascularPrevention #CoronaryArteryDiseases #ValvularHeartDisease #Electrophysiology #CardiacElectrophysiology #Echocardiography #InterventionalCardiology #ClinicalCardiology #NuclearCardiology #AcuteCoronarySyndromes #ArrhythmiaEP #CVImaging #CVDPrevention #CardiacArrhythmias #Peertechz #PeertechzPublications #OpenAccess #ScientificJournals #PeerReviewedJournals #OpenAccessPublishers #CardiacPhysiology #CardiacRegeneration #CardiacRehabilitation #Cardiomyopathies #CardiovascularDrugs #CardiovascularTherapy #CardiovascularAnatomy #CongenitalHeartDefects

https://lnkd.in/gwDeEsaM Article title: Heart Failure (HF): Recent innovations in clinical therapy and critical profiles of acute and chronic forms Author(s): Giulio Perrotta* Journal: Journal of Cardiovascular Medicine and Cardiology Journal ISSN: 2455-2976 Abstract: Background and objectives: Heart failure is a pathological condition characterized by the inability of the heart to pump (cardiac output) an adequate amount of blood to meet the metabolic needs of the body or, at any rate, to be able to do so only at the expense of increased filling pressures in one or more cardiac chambers and the upstream venous circulation. The research group states here the primary objective of expanding the indications contained in the ESC 2021 with the results of the last year on the subject of treatment profiles, to facilitate a better understanding of the overall clinical picture and contribute to the next edition of the guidelines. #HeartFailure #AcuteHeartFailure #BNP #NTproBNP #ESC2021 #CoronaryArteryDiseases #ValvularHeartDisease #Electrophysiology #CardiacElectrophysiology #Echocardiography #InterventionalCardiology #ClinicalCardiology #NuclearCardiology #AcuteCoronarySyndromes #ArrhythmiaEP #CVImaging #CVDPrevention #CardiacArrhythmias #Peertechz #PeertechzPublications #OpenAccess #ScientificJournals #PeerReviewedJournals #OpenAccessPublishers #CardiacPhysiology #CardiacRegeneration #CardiacRehabilitation #Cardiomyopathies #CardiovascularDrugs #CardiovascularTherapy #CardiovascularAnatomy #CongenitalHeartDefects

https://lnkd.in/gFRdtFmj Article title: Restoration of sinus rhythm in a late presentation of inferior STEMI complicated by complete heart block with percutaneous coronary intervention Author(s): Omar Fakhreddine; Omar Chaabo; Maurice Khoury; Ziyad Ghazzal Journal: Journal of Cardiovascular Medicine and Cardiology Journal ISSN: 2455-2976 Abstract: An 87-year-old female patient presented with a two-day history of the chest and epigastric pain associated with generalized fatigue. She was diagnosed with late presentation inferior ST-elevation myocardial infarction complicated by complete heart block. Given her late presentation, she was not taken to the catheterization laboratory immediately. She was admitted to the cardiac care unit. Transthoracic echocardiography showed an ejection fraction of 55% - 60% with wall motion abnormalities involving the posterior and inferior walls. #InferiorSTEMI #CompleteHeartBlock #Revascularization #CoronaryArteryDiseases #ValvularHeartDisease #Electrophysiology #CardiacElectrophysiology #Echocardiography #InterventionalCardiology #ClinicalCardiology #NuclearCardiology #AcuteCoronarySyndromes #ArrhythmiaEP #CVImaging #CVDPrevention #CardiacArrhythmias #Peertechz #PeertechzPublications #OpenAccess #ScientificJournals #PeerReviewedJournals #OpenAccessPublishers #CardiacPhysiology #CardiacRegeneration #CardiacRehabilitation #Cardiomyopathies #CardiovascularDrugs #CardiovascularTherapy #CardiovascularAnatomy #CongenitalHeartDefects

https://lnkd.in/g4CvcRUT Article title: How the New International recommendation for Electrocardiographic interpretation in Athletes would change our practice Author(s): Roberto Ferrara; Andrea Serdoz; Mariangela Peruzzi; Elena Cavarretta Journal: Journal of Cardiovascular Medicine and Cardiology Journal ISSN: 2455-2976 Introduction: Recent evidences in the prevention of sudden cardiac death (SCD) confirmed the importance of pre-participation cardiovascular screening in athletes to early identify, and further disqualify from the competition, all the athletes, if any, affected by life-threatening serious cardiac pathologies that can lead to SCD [1-2]. At present, there is no consensus regarding the optimal strategy for athletes’ pre-participation screening. #CoronaryArteryDiseases #ValvularHeartDisease #Electrophysiology #CardiacElectrophysiology #Echocardiography #InterventionalCardiology #ClinicalCardiology #NuclearCardiology #AcuteCoronarySyndromes #ArrhythmiaEP #CVImaging #CVDPrevention #CardiacArrhythmias #Peertechz #PeertechzPublications #OpenAccess #ScientificJournals #PeerReviewedJournals #OpenAccessPublishers #CardiacPhysiology #CardiacRegeneration #CardiacRehabilitation #Cardiomyopathies #CardiovascularDrugs #CardiovascularTherapy #CardiovascularAnatomy #CongenitalHeartDefects

https://lnkd.in/gnnC59Nx Article title: Multiple Giant Coronary Arterial Aneurysms Leading to Stable Angina Author(s): Bahadir Sarli*; Eyup Ozkan; Melih Demirbas; Ahmet O Baktir Journal: Journal of Cardiovascular Medicine and Cardiology Journal ISSN: 2455-2976 Case Report: Coronary artery aneurysm (CAA) is defined as abnormal dilatation of a coronary artery luminal diameter to 1.5 to 2 times wider than the adjacent normal segment. Giant coronary artery aneurysms are rare, with a reported prevalence of 0.02% to 0.2% [1]. Most of the giant coronary artery aneurysms are asymptomatic, but some patients present with angina pectoris, sudden death, fistula formation, pericardial tamponade, compression of surrounding structures, or congestive heart failure. #CoronaryArteryDiseases #ValvularHeartDisease #Electrophysiology #CardiacElectrophysiology #Echocardiography #InterventionalCardiology #ClinicalCardiology #NuclearCardiology #AcuteCoronarySyndromes #ArrhythmiaEP #CVImaging #CVDPrevention #CardiacArrhythmias #Peertechz #PeertechzPublications #OpenAccess #ScientificJournals #PeerReviewedJournals #OpenAccessPublishers #CardiacPhysiology #CardiacRegeneration #CardiacRehabilitation #Cardiomyopathies #CardiovascularDrugs #CardiovascularTherapy #CardiovascularAnatomy #CongenitalHeartDefects

https://lnkd.in/gbhUDCzs Article title: Potential Arrhythmogenic Risk of DDI/DDD Pacing Modes During Atrial Fibrillation Author(s): Giacomo Mugnai*; Livio Bertagnolli; Ruggero Tomei Journal: Journal of Cardiovascular Medicine and Cardiology Journal ISSN: 2455-2976 Abstract: In patients with paroxysmal-persistent atrial fibrillation (AF), DDI and DDD pacing modes can be used to assess the clinical burden of AF. This report shows how the DDI mode might trigger ventricular tachyarrhythmias during AF. This potential arrhythmogenic phenomenon should be carefully considered when programming a device in DDI (or DDD) mode in patients with AF. #DDIMode #AtrialFibrillation #VentricularTachycardia #CoronaryArteryDiseases #ValvularHeartDisease #Electrophysiology #CardiacElectrophysiology #Echocardiography #InterventionalCardiology #ClinicalCardiology #NuclearCardiology #AcuteCoronarySyndromes #ArrhythmiaEP #CVImaging #CVDPrevention #CardiacArrhythmias #Peertechz #PeertechzPublications #OpenAccess #ScientificJournals #PeerReviewedJournals #OpenAccessPublishers #CardiacPhysiology #CardiacRegeneration #CardiacRehabilitation #Cardiomyopathies #CardiovascularDrugs #CardiovascularTherapy #CardiovascularAnatomy #CongenitalHeartDefects
