Think back to the best manager you ever had... What behaviors did they do to enable your success? How did you feel when on their team? In their research, Catalyst discovered that when employees perceived their senior leaders as empathetic, they were more innovative, more engaged in their work, and less likely to leave the organization. On the flip side, now think of the WORST manage you have ever had - how did they impact how you did your work and your engagement levels? Gallup’s State of the American Manager research found that 50% of respondents said they quit a job because of a manager at some point in their career. If you want to make sure you are a 'good boss,' check out some of my free resources to develop your empathetic leadership skills here: https://lnkd.in/dkXnUnVy #changingwork #manager #managerdevelopment #goodboss #badboss #leadership #empatheticleadership #empathy

It's fascinating to see how the role of a leader is changing, isn't it? As we look ahead, it's clear that tomorrow's leaders will need a whole new set of skills and qualities to succeed in the evolving business landscape. One thing that stands out is the emphasis on collaboration. Leaders will need to be the ultimate 'Connector-in-Chief,' bringing teams together and energizing the entire business through teamwork and collaboration. Adaptability is another big theme. With everything changing so quickly, leaders will need to be open to learning, embracing change, and making timely decisions in the face of uncertainty. And let's not forget about the importance of vision and empathy. Leaders will need to rally their teams around a clear vision for the future, while actively listening to diverse perspectives and acting with genuine empathy. Bold decision-making and resilience will also be crucial, as leaders navigate through challenges and stand by their choices, learning and growing from their missteps. Lastly, authenticity and trust will be the bedrock of effective leadership, driving financial performance and fostering a strong sense of purpose. It's an exciting and challenging time to be a leader, but those who embody these traits and characteristics will be well-equipped to lead their teams through the opportunities and obstacles that lie ahead.
