It contributes 37–50% of organic aerosols in the atmosphere. However, studies on the sources and formation mechanisms of WSON and its hazardous species were limited in Hong Kong. 𝐃𝐫 𝐃𝐢 𝐇𝐔, Associate Professor in the Department of Chemisty at HKBU, and her PhD student, Mr Ryan Leung, characterized 22 nitrogen-containing organic compounds (NOCs) from three major categories of WSON, i.e., amines, urea, and nitroaromatic compounds (NACs).
