This is masterclass stuff here by Lisa Su Leaders please remember you are already the boss you don’t need the credit as well. Question: “Do you speak English?” Answer: “Yes” Notably not “of course”. She could have took offense but she also could have assumed no ill intent and just answered the question which is what happened. Lesson here is to give grace and assume good intentions this will make your life easier. Question: “What are you doing on the grid?” Answer: “I’m with AMD and we are sponsoring the Ferrari car” Notably not “I am the CEO” and she used “we” instead of “I” when answering. Lesson here is she could have used that second answer to crush him about his previous question. She could have implied she was more important than him or others. Instead she amplified the team and made no mention of her role or part in leading it. The reason AMD is sponsoring a car is not to make the CEO more famous. They are amplifying their brand. Lisa Su understood that and turned a 25 second interaction that could have went off the tracks quickly into an opportunity to amplify the brand even more. #leadership #assumegoodintentions #focusonthemessage https://lnkd.in/eYQTzSa7
