AI is just a tool, not bad not good. It is the way we use it and who decides how to using it what makes it good or bad. Fake news, deep audio/video fakes, coordinated hate attacks,.. have become obiquitous due to the lack of regulation and anonymity found in Internet and AI development. The Spanish Deep Fake case in Almendralejo, where 11 years old classmates created nude AI images of their female classmates, is just an example showing how AI technology is affordable for any one, even childs, and of course, internet trolls. Don't be ashamed. Report any abuse, report any misusing, and that way maybe, and only maybe, our politicians and our society shall notice how big is the issue. Don't be ashamed, hidden it just makes it bigger, a crime bigger that makes us sidekickers. An AI PSA: As the number of multi-modal generative AI systems increases so does the number of opportunities for bad actors at the individual, organizational, and nation-state level to create "deep fakes" for the purposes of committing fraud and spreading misinformation. There are all types of stories out there from deepfakes being used to con large and reputable financial institutions to wire huge sums of money to extortion, to social hazing, bullying, and harassment. Kudos to Accenture for putting together this AI First Aid Kit that drives awareness and allows people to take some proactive steps in avoiding deep fake scams.
