Huge congratulations to our patron, Saeed Atcha, on this honour. We can't think of anyone more deserving. His work and voice lift young people up everyday and we are so proud to have him in our corner. Well done, Saeed!

😲 What’s it like to receive a 900-year-old honour as a young person? I was a kid in care, now I’m stepping into history. This week, I had the privilege of receiving the Freedom of the City of London. It’s one of the oldest surviving traditions, and being part of it as a young person feels extraordinary. The Freedom of the City has a rich history, dating back to 1237. It originally gave people the right to trade and own property, but today it's about the connection to heritage and civic pride. For me, it’s about possibility. It shows that people from all backgrounds can reach historic milestones. It links the past with the present, reminding us of our shared stories and it’s proof that disadvantage doesn’t define your future - your actions do. As a kid in care, I could never have imagined moments like this. To everyone working towards their goals: keep going. History is shaped by those who dare to step forward. My thanks to The Clothworkers' Company for their support in making this possible.
