In this Internship simulation I: * Drafted eight user stories using Trello and prioritized them by estimating the relative level of effort required * Ran the Scrum team’s daily standup to effectively plan the day and energize the team members * Conducted a sprint review to gather feedback on the Scrum’s work and a sprint retrospective to align on opportunities for improvement in future sprints

Empowering Innovation: My Internship at Visa Inc. From January 9, 2024, to July 4, 2024, I had the incredible opportunity to intern at Visa Inc., serving as a Scrum Master for four dynamic teams. This role placed me at the heart of Agile project management, where I facilitated daily stand-up meetings, sprint planning sessions, reviews, and retrospectives. A key aspect of my responsibilities was managing Jira boards, ensuring tasks were updated and accurately reflected the team’s progress. Working closely with diverse teams, I gained invaluable insights into Agile methodologies, iterative development, and continuous improvement. Effective communication and team collaboration were paramount, and I developed strong problem-solving skills by addressing various project impediments. My role required adaptability and quick decision-making, essential for navigating the fast-paced environment of a global leader in digital payments. Visa’s innovative culture and commitment to secure, reliable digital payment solutions were evident in every project. This internship provided a deep understanding of the digital payments industry, Visa’s strategic initiatives, and its competitive positioning. Year 2✅ On Friday the 21st of June I completed my second 5 month work placement at PwC as a part of the Technology Degree Apprenticeship Programme! This began with the Consulting Essentials 5 week training which gave great insight into being a management consultant before I returned to the office as a Technology Consultant in Financial Services. The following are a glimpse of the work, roles and achievements I took away from this placement: 🌟 Exceeded my target of Certifications Achieved: - Azure #AI Fundamentals (AI-900) - #Azure Enterprise Data Analytics Associate (DP-500) - Professional Scrum Master (PSM1) 🌟 Involved in 3 #Insurance RFPs (Ready for Proposals). One of which I was selected by a Partner, I had previously worked with last placement, to support and lead with the commercials 🌟 After learning skills in this area at the end of my second year of Uni, by chance I was in the role of a Web Application #Developer. Using my knowledge and new learnings of AI, I was able to create my own Data Analytics tools for users of this app to display analysed data in written or visual format, demoing to the Director of the project 🌟Joined for the latter half of my placement as a #ScrumMaster on an Insurance PoC (Proof of Concept). After completing my certification and with the network I had built in FS Insurance I was welcomed by a small team with a big responsibility of a role usually taken up by someone much more senior and experienced. However, a key trait of a Scrum Master is to also adapt and when the PoC began to steer more away from Agile despite keeping key #Scrum ceremonies and artefacts, I had to adjust at speed. It was challenging at times also taking up other responsibilities such as supporting #BusinssAnalyst. But, the result was a huge success for myself; learning and coaching new agile skills, performing under pressure in multiple roles and the building of great relationships, all allowing me to secure a seat on the ambitious and spanning project when I get back! 🌟Completed my second year of University with the yearly double credit module carrying over into my placement Ultimately, this second placement saw its fair share of highs and lows with the difficult #Consulting market in my sector of #FinancialServices. However, with the varied roles and work I was given and also found due to my network which has only increased, this placement was a massive success. I again achieved a perfect employee evaluation which has catalysed my final grades of my second year to a very high overall result I am again very pleased with at Queen Mary University of London. Now I am at the halfway mark of my programme, I hope to replicate this success for the second half of my Degree Apprenticeship for PwC!!! #pwc #qmul #degreeapprenticeships

You can excel at your next product management job role. I did it too. Though I have had my fair share of failures, what I have realized over the years is that you can hone your skills, and apply all the tactics you learn from others yet a few of them will not go well. And that’s absolutely fine. As long as you are willing to learn and unlearn, things will get better. My first internship at Scotiabank as a product manager taught me: • It's crucial to constantly update your skills and knowledge, especially in fast-evolving fields like technology. • To keep multiple products on track, adopting rigorous task management practices is essential. • Transitioning to agile practices can significantly improve team flexibility and product responsiveness. • Effective communication is the backbone of successful product management, especially when dealing with multiple products. It's 12:27 PM as I write this, and guess what? I've been on Forage since 8 AM, getting insights into what intern at JPMorgan Chase & co may work on in relation to product and project management. One day I'm laser-focused on product management, the next...well, let's be honest, we often get those moments where 30 minutes of working towards our goal feels like scaling Mount Everest. Today, however, I channeled my inner Scrum Master via the JPMC Job simulation and: ✅Drafted eight user stories using Trello and prioritized them by estimating the relative level of effort required. ✅Ran the Scrum team’s daily standup to effectively plan the day and energize the team members. ✅Conducted a sprint review to gather feedback on the Scrum’s work and a sprint retrospective to align on opportunities for improvement in future sprints. 𝘓𝘪𝘧𝘦 𝘢𝘴 𝘢 𝘵𝘦𝘤𝘩 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘦? 𝘐𝘵'𝘴 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘦𝘹𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘺 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘩𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘻𝘰𝘯. Big shoutout to BeTechified Everyday task centers around equipping us with practical product management skills and helping us build a rockstar LinkedIn presence. So, a typical day for me? It's a blend of brainstorming with my fellow product manager on our PRD, sculpting the perfect CV and cover letter, crafting engaging LinkedIn posts, and diving deep into knowledge on Forage. Oh, and yes, there might be a few strategic Twitter scrolls sprinkled in for good measure. Because, hey, balance, right? 🤭🤭 You know, all work and no play? 😉😉 Stay tuned! Still reflecting on my career journey in this year 2024. Not resting on my laurel, I did a crash course in the agile scrum master immediately I finished my Business analysis training. The agile is used mostly for software program, and for those that are difficult or impossible to plan at the outset of the project. I love the agile framework because of the short period of execution and the addition of new features at every sprints. The simplicity and working software approach also intrigues me. The next step is how I was able to get an internship in which I will discuss in my next post.

Last week, revisiting Agile principles for a project led me to delve back into Jira. While setting up requirements, I realized a crucial tip for Jira users, especially those new to Scrum. The backlog section is your central hub for project tasks (issues). Here, you can view a list of upcoming tasks and their progress. While updating tasks from the issues section is common, I find the backlog offers greater flexibility (personal preference!).
