After recent announcements of some of the tracks being extended until 2031, it is only right to take a look into some of the best and worst tracks on the F1 timetable. In my recent blog, I have highlighted what races I believe are the best and worst races, and also what I believe makes a good race track🏁 I must admit, after the Las Vegas Grand Prix this year.. I do think that could be up there for one of the best race tracks. What do you think it takes to make a good race circuit? What would you change about the circuits on the grid to make them better? Let me know! https://lnkd.in/edGM7xbg

Wide ranging interview with Formula E Jeff Dodds... “I love Formula 1, but as we sit here today, Max is 80 points clear and has won nine races, and they are hailing it as one of the most competitive seasons for years... we have that [highly competitive and unpredictable racing] every year.” There are 16 races over ten weekends, starting in Brazil on Saturday, and Dodds wants to add a race each year... [and] wants a second round in the United States. “We have not pushed that [Netflix / Drive to Survive] button yet and haven’t had an unscripted global streaming proposition. Clearly, we are looking at how we can use that opportunity, but we don’t want to be just another version of Drive to Survive. Over the coming weeks, we will announce a media product that will put drivers in the spotlight and allow them to build a profile to a very different fanbase.” Watch this space! https://lnkd.in/ehpQPBRT

#ZACHMultimediaF1Insights #ZACHMultimediaHotRods "How Formula 1 teams plan strategy: secret codes and hundreds of voices "From millions of simulations to weather forecasting and listening to other teams’ radios … the pursuit of perfection can turn strategists into heroes – or villains By Molly H., Motor Racing Reporter, The Times, 22 August 2024 Collage By #ZACHMultimediaDesign "A Formula 1 team can have the fastest driver, the quickest pit stops and the richest history, but without the correct strategy that is all merely a footnote. "But that strategy, and the difference between winning and losing, is not only the decision of a small brains trust at the top of the organisation, but rather the result of the input of hundreds of minds — largely unknown and split between the pitwall and the factory — providing the data and analysis that the more familiar faces can utilise. "From complex simulations to basic weather forecasting, over the course of a season there will be many “decision points” that can transform strategists from heroes to villains. There is another key point too, of course. “If you want to make a strategy team look brilliant, give them a fast car,” Andrew Shovlin, the Mercedes-Benz AG trackside engineering director, says, laughing. "Shov, as he is known in the paddock, would know. Mercedes had to wait until the ninth race of the season to claim their first podium place, before an upturn in form. In the past six races Mercedes have had six podium finishes, including three race victories. [Image - F1 teams use their own weather radars, though tracks such as Spa can be unpredictable because of their microclimates - Alamy] "“Racing at the front with a fast car is much easier than racing in mid-pack where you’ve got to cover off so many different threats. You often have races where you might have ten cars that are all within two or three tenths [of a second] on performance. Therefore they’re all a threat,” Shovlin explained from Mercedes’s Brackley factory before the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa. "Strategy is a highly technical, mathematical and complex operation. Millions of simulations build a picture that determines the probability of what could happen in a race. One such simulator tool, which all teams will use in varying forms, plots each potential race plan on a graph using colour-coded lines for each team, featuring their pace across the course of the race and when they could pit. "This can cause confusion, or at least temporary irritation, when a driver moves teams and their line changes colour (as Lewis Hamilton’s will when he goes to Scuderia Ferrari next season). Teams will use a combination of data from previous visits to the circuit, analysis of where their current car performs well or struggles and live feedback from sessions to create a moving picture of strategy. They will also have a percentage chance of a safety..."... ... https://lnkd.in/g3zh7zYW

WHY NEW "PERFECT" RED BULL RING KERB SOLUTION COULD BANISH F1'S TRACK LIMITS PROBLEM https://lnkd.in/eSSEa-sY A new kerb and gravel trap solution introduced at the Red Bull Ring could become the blueprint to banish track limit problems everywhere in Formula 1. As F1 teams got a first glimpse of the solution that has been incorporated at several corners of the Austrian Grand Prix venue on Thursday, F1 race director Niels Wittich has suggested the series has finally found a "perfect set-up." With the Red Bull Ring having been one of the circuits where track limits have been a major problem in the past, with there being more than 1200 offences in last year's Austrian GP, it was clear action needed to be taken for this year. So, following input from the FIA, a series of key revisions have been implemented in specific areas of the circuit aimed at resolving the matter for good. And rather than it simply being a case of race organisers introducing gravel traps behind the kerbs to deter drivers from running wide, the changes are more detailed than that in an effort to sort the track limits problem for good (...).

Formula E started with 2 races in the US 10 years ago (Long Beach & Miami). Formula E's CEO has just hinted 2 races in the US are again the target for the 2026 calendar. "My view has always been the US needs more than one race," stated FE's CEO. "It needs at least two, maybe more than that. The good news is we have a lot of American cities that are interested in putting on a race. If you look at the US, probably 20 [cities could host Formula E]... New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Atlanta, Detroit, Phoenix, Dallas, you go on and on... There are so many big cities that have motorsport heritage that could sustain a race." https://lnkd.in/eB_m2NV2

🎄 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟭𝟯𝘁𝗵 🎄 In today's episode our Race Manager Allan østli will take us on a ride around the SBS Dynamic Racing Concept. At SBS Friction A/S, we’ve been at the forefront of road racing since the 1990s, collaborating with top teams and riders to push the limits of brake performance. 🏍️🏆 Our journey has led to numerous titles in World Superbike, Supersport, and Superstock classes, as well as National Championships worldwide. 🌍 In 2007, we revolutionized racing brakes with the launch of the DS Dual Sinter compound, with Allan spearheading the development with pro riders. Since then, our R&D team has continuously innovated, working closely with teams and riders in the World & British Superbike Championships. 🛠️ Introducing the 𝗗𝘆𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗥𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗽𝘁 – a rider-specific brake customization that combines the best of two worlds: 1️⃣𝗗𝗦-𝟭: Strong initial bite and linear in-stop performance. 2️⃣𝗗𝗦-𝟮: Smooth initial bite and progressive in-stop performance.
