OrthoGrid Systems, Inc.’s Post

You’ve got a pre-op plan for a total hip - but how confident are you that you can deliver it? One crucial element to consider In the realm of hip replacement is each patient’s unique functional pelvic tilt (PT). You need to know the tilt you see in the fluoro images you are working from during surgery is the same as your pre-op reference images. Thanks to Dr. Gilliland and team from the University of Utah, there’s a novel method to measure PT using simple X-ray imaging techniques. 👀 Watch the full video to hear Dr. Gilliland explain how it is possible to correlate the distance from the trans teardrop line to the top of the pubic symphysis on an AP pelvis view to the measurement of tilt observed in lateral pre-op images. This measurement is integrated into our Hip AI systems, making it easy to reproduce each patient’s unique functional pelvis intraoperatively. The “T” guide in Hip AI app shows clearly how to adjust the C-arm so you know that the pelvic position you see is the same as your pre-op standing images. So you can deliver exactly what you planned. #OrthoGrid #PelvicTilt #OrthopedicResearch #MedicalInnovation #HealthTech #JointReplacementSurgery #OrthopedicSurgery
