Subject: Urgent: Illegal Use of Contract Workers at Rieter India Pvt. Ltd. Dear All Rieter member’s , I am writing to bring to your attention a serious concern regarding the illegal use of contract workers at Rieter India Pvt. Ltd. Despite the gravity of this issue, the management continues to exploit contract workers and undermine the rights of permanent employees. On January 16, 2023, the Government Labour Officer, Satara, inspected the contract workers and found: - 1500-1600 contract workers hiding in various places, including company transport buses, outside warehouses, toilets, and latrines. - Mr. Appasaheb Nimbalkar, Manager, HR Department, had taken 1100-1200 contract workers to hide in Gujar Foundation outside the company premises, pretending to train them. This incident raises concerns about: - The practices of the Indian management - Possible collusion with the Government Labour Officer to exploit contract workers - Undermining the rights of permanent employees Regrettably, the situation remains unchanged. Despite the absence of production, a large number of contract workers are still working illegally on original products. The management continues to deceive the government and top management.
