Once again, Ostend-Bruges Airport has demonstrated its flexibility and efficiency at times when the surrounding airports are congested during the year-end cargo peak period. This long weekend, the Air Belgium operated two inbound flights from Dubai (DWC) with one of their mighty B747-8F and an A330F both operated by Air Belgium to the Belgian coastal airport. Nice picture of these lovely visiting aircraft B747-8F and an A330F @ EBOS! Hopefully Ostend-Bruges airport can attract more cargo/commercial aviation airliners and not just for a one-time visit. However better a visit than nothing.

"According to our information, the Chinese province of Sichuan (located in the southwest of China) has taken over the 49.95% of the shareholding of the Belgian airline Air Belgium (AB), previously held by the Chinese logistics group, Hongyuan. The Belgian airline, still heavily in debt and in the middle of a judicial reorganisation procedure (PRJ), had to make a move after its now former shareholder (and also customer) had difficulty paying its bills. In this agreement reached with Air Belgium, the Chinese province promised a substantial payment of at least 500,000 euros per month.
