I recently got a comment from a guy who reminded me that I hadn't talked about the Roth 401k yet. I decided to do that today. There are four things to keep in mind when considering the Roth 401k: 1. You can't access the gains until age 59 1/2. 2. You're limited as to how much you can contribute. 3. The company match is still pre-tax. 4. Contributing as much as you can afford is NOT how you maximize the account. #roth401k #401k

October is National Financial Planning Month! Tip #2: Utilize employer-matching contributions. If your employer offers a 401(k) match, but you're not taking advantage of it, you could be missing out on free money. Each employer is different, but one example of this is a dollar-for-dollar match up to 4%. So if you made $50,000 and contributed 4%, both you and your employer would be putting $2000 into your 401(k). That's $2000 more than you'd have otherwise! #401k #employermatch #retirementsavings https://lnkd.in/eecrUG3D
