Any insights anyone what this will do to the hearing aid market going forward? Will this disrupt midterm the business of established hearing aid vendors - they have a very different approach: high price but very high service level, hearing aid acousticians on staff, optimizing settings and setup to the need of patients. #apple #disruption #consumerwearable #mtech https://lnkd.in/dFYp3A-n

While neither will replace professional devices and services, they can open improved health to many. Chuck Joiner, David Ginsburg, Eric Bolden, Brian Flanigan-Arthurs, Marty Jencius, Jim Rea, Jeff Gamet, Mark Fuccio, and Web Bixby share thoughts and experiences on the importance of these approvals. Then, the panel discusses their first experiences with macOS Sequoia and whether you should upgrade or wait.

🎧 Protecting Your Hearing While Using Headphones 🎧 Headphones play a significant role in our daily lives, whether it's for listening to music, joining meetings, or watching movies. However, daily use can pose risks to your hearing, including hearing loss. Key Factors: Volume and Duration Audiologist Kate Johnson emphasizes, "Hearing damage from noise is a combination of volume and duration." Portable devices can reach 120 dBA, similar to a rock concert. It's recommended to keep the volume below 60% of the maximum, within the 65-85 dBA range. Duration Taking breaks is crucial when using headphones for extended periods. "You can listen at 85 dBA for eight hours without risk," says Johnson. For every three-decibel increase, the safe listening time is halved. Hearing Loss Symptoms Frequent headphone use can lead to symptoms like tinnitus, difficulty hearing in noisy environments, and needing to increase TV volume. If you notice these symptoms, consider reducing headphone use and consult an audiologist. Choosing Headphones Noise-cancelling headphones can help maintain lower volumes by blocking external noise. Setting volume limits and monitoring daily usage time are also recommended practices. Headphones enhance our daily lives, but responsible use is key to protecting our hearing health in the long term. https://lnkd.in/eBZ8TBTi #HearingHealth #Headphones #HearingProtection #HealthTips #HIS #NBCHIS #HearingAids

This is so exciting, Apple's #applewatch and #AirPods can alert users to sleep apnea and hearing loss, while #AirPods will serve as a hearing aid too! #Hearingaids are expensive, and completely in the ear canal hearing aids (CICs) usually cost $5,000+. Low-price alternatives like Songbird failed. AirPods will also reduce the "I'm not old" embarrassment barrier, preventing many people from using traditional hearing aids. Meanwhile, at-home #sleeptests have been available for a relatively short time (2008) and cost a couple of hundred dollars and up. While some will argue these Apple innovations are not "clinical grade," I believe they will shake up care for both #hearingloss and #sleepapnea. On the one hand, people will self-diagnose and come in for care more often, but on the other hand, many may skip traditional tests and hearing aids altogether. It is a fun time to be a strategic marketer... What say you?
