I recently took my first Qantas flights in many years. Whether its a "millennialism" or not, as someone who has been highly fortunate to have enjoyed many flights in my life I have never found myself drawn too or in anyway loyal to a single aviation brand. Firstly, I must say that the Qantas experience was indeed great and arguably the most comfortable flying experiences I have had for quite some time. One thing that did strike me though was the product offering for in-flight. Cue your Seinfeld music with a vintage 90's joke about plane food. In complete opposition to the cliche, the offering felt of such a higher quality than that of its competitors. There seemed to be a real focus on the customer experience as well as the story behind the products being served. Then came the drinks menu though.... Now in all honesty if you had told me 10 years ago that I could get an ice cold can of Stone and Wood Pacific Ale on a flight I would have been stoked. But in 2024, this feels like a failure of opportunity. Don't get me wrong, Pacific Ale is awesome. I have no ill will towards the beer and its a huge leap from the days of draughts and bitters on planes. My issue though? Why is our national carrier and the very symbol of Australia through the skies advertising foreign owned beer? Yes, beer is my job. But beer is also the everyone person drink and let's face it the fuel of many airport layovers globally. Why then is one of Australia's most important companies who are putting so much effort into artisan domestically owned food companies being showcased on their flights, skipping over this crucial element of air travel? There are over 600 independent breweries in Australia. Owned, operated and giving back to this country. Where is their look in? Apologies for an off brand rant but it seems so sad to me, that a company like Qantas who have so much opportunity to give back to this country and its producers simply skip over certain areas for convenience. I know its small and niche but these are the things that I genuinely believe would incentivise me and my dollars long term to have a preferred carrier going forward. And hey if this find its way to the beer buyer for Qantas I would be more than happy to connect you to the Independent Brewers Association for a call out to submit products for ranging!

With all major cruise operators showing exponential on board revenue growth from casino operations, now is the time for the premium luxury cruise segment to elevate the guest experience and boost on board revenue by attracting qualified (invited) casino players to their brands. A 954 Gaming "Success story” ! In anticipation of the Crystal Endeavour’s inaugural summer season in 2021, we were contacted by 2 premium casino players ($100,000+ Bankrolls) interested in Arctic Exploration. Those initial casino reservations help us confirmed four (4) additional retail reservations (6 Suites Total) with a total retail value in excess of $130,000 dollars. Following the groups positive cruise experience, the casino players made two (2) additional reservations on Crystal during the FALL 2021 season and were accompanied by their friends who paid full retail fares for their reservations. Today we average 1.5 retail sales, for every one (1) qualified complimentary casino cruise reservation. Qualified Casino players have one of the highest levels of revenue per occupied cabin of the Cruise Industry. With plenty of time at sea, no competition from neighboring land based casinos and average itineraries of 10+ days, premium luxury cruises offer a greater opportunity for “the house” to maximize playing time and onboard revenue.
