FHIR resources are a snapshot in time for the represented entity. But what if you need to look back in time to trace the evolution of a FHIR resource? Look no further than the history endpoint. By appending "/_history" to a resource's URL (e.g., http://[server URL]/Patient/123/_history), you can access its past versions. This feature offers important insights into data changes, modifications, and the overall lifecycle of a resource. Key benefits: Version control: Track resource evolution over time. Audit trails: Monitor data changes and modifications. Data integrity: Ensure data accuracy and consistency. Compliance: Meet regulatory requirements for data traceability. Research: Analyze historical data patterns and trends. How it works: Request: Send a GET request to the specified endpoint. Response: Receive a Bundle containing historical versions of the resource, sorted by timestamp. That's it for this week. Ready for another #TaskGroupTuesday? The work achieved in task groups (TGs) is one of the most significant ways NCPDP drives industry change, interoperability, and innovation, and they are open to everyone! This week we're highlighting a task group governed by Work Group 19 NCPDP Standards Coordination. The USCDI Data Element Review Task Group is currently conducting a review of the United States Core Data for #Interoperability (#USCDI), a standardized set of #healthdata classes and constituent data elements for nationwide, #interoperable health information exchange that is adopted as standard in the ONC #CuresAct Final Rule. Join the task group to learn more about the USCDI, NCPDP Data Dictionary and ECL, and to help shape the data pharmacies share with other providers in the future. Your voice matters to us! Find out how you can join in the discussion via task group meetings though our Collaborative Workspace: https://lnkd.in/gDBCrHh. The WG19 USCDI Data Element Review Task Group meets Tuesdays from 1:00 to 2:00 PM ET. NCPDP has more than 80 task groups that meet by conference call. Keep an eye out for next week's task group highlight!

In continuation of my previous post about my FHIR data interoperability project, this week I'm diving into some use case-driven scenarios and how FHIR helps us achieve them. It's all about the Bundles—one of the standout features of the FHIR server. Bundles make system interactions straightforward, reducing the complexity of the code needed to introduce new features. For example, third-party niche healthcare service providers can interact with an EMR using a single comprehensive bundle, allowing them to report or stream their services seamlessly. I have used the ClinFHIR scenario builder to generate the images. Thanks to Intersystems for supporting this service. I have also added some real time delivery bottlenecks in the last page that I have witnessed in my experience that is crucial for project success. #FHIR #HAPI #Firely #Healthcare #Datainteroperability #Bundle #EMR #Resource #clinFHIR #ScenarioBuilder #bundleviewer #Intersystems
