To spread some holiday cheer, we've created our very own Acoustic Connections game! Think you have what it takes to win? 🏆 Here are the rules: 🟨 Select four words that share a common thread. Click “submit.” 🟩 If you’re correct, the four selected words will group together, unveiling their common theme, then the game will proceed. 🟦 If you’re incorrect, the screen will not change, but you will lose one of your guesses. You only have four wrong guesses, so choose wisely! 🟪 Bonus: Once you finish, click “copy results” at the bottom of the page and comment with your score. We want to see who was able to complete the puzzle with the fewest wrong answers! ✨ Put your skills to the test here: https://lnkd.in/eC6V2EBz Disclaimer: this game is not affiliated with The New York Times or any of its subsidiaries. #Game #Marketing #Holiday

Today in our Fireside Chat we explored life as game play: https://lnkd.in/gDEUidy5 You can join us on April 4th at 12 pm EDT for our next Fireside session: https://lnkd.in/gsE-qWEj Is there a character in your mind that looks and feels like you? One that frequently insists how the game SHOULD be played and when you've won and lost? Does that feel less than play-full and more like playing out a series of patterns, habits, ought tos and shoulds? There's only one ending to that finite game and it forever reads GAME OVER. What would it feel like to experience the joy of being lively, stepping beyond the character of you and into infinite play.
The game you didn't know you were playing

After presenting our game demo what felt like 50 times at Gamescom, getting reactions, answering questions, and engaging with countless peers, I found myself rediscovering our own game. These interactions gave me a much clearer vision of what an even better version of it could be. But I also had a nagging thought: while feedback from industry peers was invaluable, they aren't necessarily the ones who will buy the game in the end. That's when we quickly decided to record a "Let's Play" of the demo for our core community on Discord and gather their feedback directly. You can check out the video and results from the blog post below. Personal learnings: - I still have some practicing to do if I ever want to switch careers to professional Let's Player. ^^ That said, today's tools make it way easier than I expected. I used OBS and highly recommend it. - Once again, it proved there’s no such thing as "too early" to show your product to your core community. Our assumptions were validated, and we received some thought-provoking feedback. Should we lower the threshold for releasing an alpha build to them? ... ... Still a very scary thought. 😅 - 26 minutes is too long for a demo. Next time, I’ll focus on feature spotlights instead of a full overview. Has anyone else had similar experiences? I’d love to hear how early, how often, and in what ways other devs involve their community in game development.
Blog 18 dropped last week! In case you missed it, Felix Dreyfus breaks down what we learned from Gamescom, responds to your feedback, and tackles some big questions from the community. Plus, there’s a 26-minute demo playthrough where he walks through the core mechanics and features we've been working on! Check it out and let us know what you think!
