The Foundational Black Americans (FBA), states that Fat Joe is wrong about who created Hip Hop. l have a problem with the FBA only in making a division with black people. What we should be concerned about is colonization and it's affect upon the people of the world. Grandmaster Flash. a Blackman from Barbados stated he created Hip Hop Rap. Now we can agree or disagree with GMF. Me l was hearing Hip Hop since 1974-1975 in Brooklyn. Chuck D made an interesting documentary on Hip Hop Rap also. My opinion l think it went like this: starting with Cool Herc, and then a few other DJs, use to bring there sound system outside and play music for the community. They all wanted to be professional DJs. The music was obviously popular black music. The FBA will say FBA music. Another one of the DJs was GMF but he came up with The Quick Mix Theory that was responsible for what we know as Hip Hop Rap. GMF, also said he was influential in the development of the cue, first to use the Beat Box as a part of mixing, that his student came up with the scratch as part of the evolution of his mix theory, etc. The whole video is informative. The real thing is FBA inventions upon the world that is responsible for basically most of the world economics. Just talking about music just shows where our mind is at. There should be no division with black people. We maybe to marginalized as a people to survive something like that.
