🚀 Confession: I once rejected a candidate who later founded a tech unicorn. My reason? They didn't fit our "ideal" profile. Huge mistake. 💡 Now, I've shifted my focus to performance potential over credentials. Key lessons from this journey: 1️⃣ Define clear success metrics for each role 2️⃣ Use past achievements as future predictors 3️⃣ Seek learning agility and adaptability 4️⃣ Expand your talent pool - top performers might not be actively job hunting Remember: Past performance ≠ Future potential Performance Based Hiring and Sourcing Your turn: What's your biggest hiring "oops" moment? People call me daily for advice on the job market and I will always help where I can. Here are a few key takeaways I have seen this year........ 💥You have to be proactive. The market is competitive, get out there and chase after these jobs as if it were a deal, they won't come to you. 💭Companies are fussy right now (and rightly so). After the cyber job market boom in 2021 and 2022 and then collapse at the start of 2023, companies are being picky with who they hire. Most vendors want the top 10% and they want to see longevity and achievements on people's CV 🚀 Start-ups are hard, but rewarding. Probably not groundbreaking news! There are so many incredible start-ups that are growing day by day, the technology is awesome and the chance to be part of something is on the table, but you need to be ready to put the work in 💰VC's are investing again! If you follow people like Karl Sharman, you will see from his weekly newsletter just how much investment is being pumped into cyber right now 📈Process when hiring is key. I bang on about this all the time, if your process is not set, then you might as well not start searching. A bad process can be the difference between winning and losing the best talent 🌍The EU cyber ecosystem is going strong. The US and Israel have been and always will be a dominant force. But this year, we have seen some awesome companies rise out of various EU locations, including The Netherlands, France, Germany, UK & Italy to name a few Always happy to hear people's thoughts...... 🔱 Trident Search 🔱

I've been putting in a lot of effort recently to secure new business, but despite my best efforts, I haven't been able to land any new clients. I have found the processes are too long and some hiring managers don't have the ability to bring on agencies when they need roles filled. It's been a challenging time, and I'm reaching out to see if others in my network are experiencing the same thing. I'd love to hear your thoughts and experiences. - Am I the only one feeling this way, or is it a common trend right now? - What strategies are you using to overcome this hurdle? - What has worked for you in finding new business opportunities? Your advice would be great. Searching for a new job can be challenging—Here are some tips to help you potentially find some “secret” or non-posted positions out there. Hiring managers and recruiters may avoid posting some roles to manage the deluge of applicants. Instead, they rely on their personal networks or run their own searches. So, have some encouragement that there are more opportunities out there that are not posted—you just need to find them! 🌟Tip #1: Find Recruiters Hiring for Your Ideal Role🌟 1. Go to the search bar on LinkedIn. 2. Copy and directly paste this entire phrase: “talent” OR “headhunter” OR “recruiter” OR “hiring” 3. Filter by “People.” 4. Filter “Locations” by your location. 5. Click on “Actively Hiring” to enter and filter by target roles. Result? You will have a list of recruiters/hiring managers who are currently hiring for your target roles. 🌟Tip #2: Reach Out Directly to Hiring Managers or Leaders🌟 1. Go to the search bar on LinkedIn. 2. Type hashtag hashtag#hiring “Company Name” - For example - hashtag#hiring NVIDIA (Remove the word "hashtag" when searching) Filter by people and location. 3. Do not select the Actively Hiring filter, as many startups may not be able to afford that option and may have hiring only in their bio. 🌟Another Way to Find Hiring Managers:🌟 1. Go to the company page on LinkedIn. 2. Select the people section tab. 3. Type “hiring” in the search bar. 4. Scroll down to see who is hiring and reach out to them. 5. You can also use the people filter options to refine your search. Remember, every connection you make and every message you send is a step closer to your next opportunity. Keep your head up, stay motivated, and believe in yourself. Your dream job is out there waiting for you! 💪✨ #JobSearch #CareerAdvice #LinkedInTips #JobHunt #CareerGrowth #Networking #JobOpportunities #StayMotivated #DreamJob #Hiring

How much longer do we have to wait for companies to decide to start hiring again? It has been a year and a half of very slow hiring. Smart companies should take advantage of all the top talent that is out on the market today. They should be snatching up some of these amazing people while other companies are waiting. We all know that the market and economy will turn around, so companies that get ahead of the curve will be a leader in their industry. This is just smart planning and seeing the forest through the trees. I know so many phenomenal people that are looking for a new role in all fields and they are ready to take your company to the next level. Start hiring now and get ahead of all the "wait and see-ers"! Your company will thank you and so will all the people that you hire. I look forward to seeing the flood of jobs once the hiring frenzy begins. Companies, please don't wait too long and lose out on all the awesome talent out there. The time is now!!! -Steve the "No Secrets" Recruiter #hirenow #whatareuwaiting4 #nosecrets
