Huge news within the Engineering sector🚀 The UK Atomic Energy Authority's JET fusion facility has a new robotic deployment that is getting a lot of attention in today's news. The robot, designed to navigate the stringent conditions of a fusion environment, is a game changer for the industry in some people's eyes. This subject is always very controversial as some are all for robotics and AI to take the reigns of our future, but on the other hand there is also an argument that people deal with people and that's the way the world was built. Professor Mark Westwood, professor of aeronautics at Cranfield University works on ONEheart and says, “The main question about the next generation of aircraft is what will the propulsion be and how will a change in propulsion system impact the shape and design? “When you start considering alternative aircraft shapes the tools are not validated like they are for existing designs. There is more uncertainty, which makes the development lifecycle longer. Plus, we need to explore a wider range of concepts.” “We are developing tools and ways to accelerate the design process. Robotics deal will make Rovtech 'industry leader' “With this acquisition, we’re not just expanding our capabilities, we’re looking to set the standard for efficiency and innovation across the nuclear and subsea energy sectors.” Cumbrian-based robotics firm Rovtech has announced a seven-figure deal to buy the VALOR remotely operated vehicle (ROV) business from Seatronics, with bosses confident it will prove to be an “indispensable tool” and “unlock” new markets, positioning Rovtech as “an industry leader”. Its addition will also see Rovtech’s workforce double to 20, which will now operate across two sites in Aberdeen and Barrow-in-Furness. They love a great big T A M Total Addressable Market is all the money that you can go after with your new venture But investors don’t love lack of focus I recently saw ten tech start up pitches The one that got the money (an Autonomous Robotics start up) presented an eye watering TAM with a credible step by step 5 year plan of how to reach it By starting with mining and the nuclear industry, Autonomous Robotics® are proving their concept in hostile, difficult to get to environments, before naturally moving in to marine and space, the big prizes Starting with a smaller audience sector builds credibility “if it can work in a nuclear power station it can work in space ...“ They then illustrated how an efficient new product development plan evolves and adapts their ‘platform’ into adjacent sectors without totally reinventing it Launch, refine, adapt, launch refine adapt ... It’s obvious but the other pitches didn’t demonstrate the steps to their TAM and failed to engage their audience Simple, ambitious STEP by STEP storytelling GETS THE MONEY #brand #brandstrategy #investorroadshow #startup

We were honored to host General Atomics Aeronautical Systems at Coexpair for a review of the significant milestones achieved in our ongoing composite manufacturing innovation project. Thanks to the General Atomics’ Blue Magic Belgium Program, Coexpair and General Atomics are developing a pioneer technology to manufacture high-quality honeycomb composite structures out-of-autoclave using resin transfer molding. This innovation aims to deliver a robust solution to produce light composite aerostructures at a high rate and reduced cost.
