Dear Sirs, We would like to inform you that during the Congress of the Polish Marine Technology Forum, which took place on 08.05.2024, the Polish Offshore Wind Industry Chamber (PIMEW) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between Polskie Forum Technologii Morskich and PIMEW. The event was a confirmation of the long-standing cooperation between the organisations, which has been established between the PFTM and the Polish Offshore Wind Energy Society, the predecessor of the PIMEW. "The offshore wind market in Poland is indeed becoming a reality. This makes the work of an organisation such as ours, which truly represents the offshore wind industry in Poland on a national scale, all the more meaningful and important. In order to complement those areas of competence in which the management of our organisation does not necessarily need to specialise, such as shipbuilding, we would like to establish substantial cooperation with such organisations as the PFTM, which is a bearer of competence in this area," said Jakub Budzyński, President of the Polish Offshore Wind Industry Chamber. #Polish #offshore #wind #industry #supply #chain #BalticSea #localContent #pimew

Earlier this month, the Low Carbon Contracts Company signed a record breaking 130 contracts following Allocation Round 6 (AR6) of the Contracts for Difference (CfD) Scheme. This will add 9.58GW of renewable generation capacity, bringing the total CfD capacity to 34.74 GW: 🔌 https://lnkd.in/eSihydS2 To put that in perspective Britain’s total installed capacity is around 105GW. Elexon’s subsidiary, EMRS, plays an important role in the CfD scheme by calculating and collecting payments from Suppliers on behalf of the LCCC, and distributing them to Generators with CfD contracts.   Last week EMRS had a joint celebration with LCCC to mark the 10-year anniversary of working in partnership. It is great to have achieved this latest result on contract allocation as it will make a major contribution to decarbonisation goals and achieving #netzero. 

The #UK awards CfD to the first commercial scale floating project in Europe. But was the AR6 spending spree enough to get British offshore wind back on track? In July, Aegir Insights published an Insights report on how the Green Volt project could sweep the entire budget allocated for floating projects in the UK’s Allocation Round 6, leaving the stepstone projects unsupported. Yesterday, this is exactly what was announced in the CfD #AR6 results. Among the large capacity of re-bids from the previous fixed-bottom AR4, the Green Volt project also succeeded in finding route to market as the first commercial scale floating project in Europe. 💡 With increasing wind turbine sizes in mind – how large should a future-proof Wind Turbine Installation Wind Vessel be? The decision for the size of Havfram's two vessels (currently under construction) has not been made over night and was a result of close dialogues with turbine manufacturers.
