📖 In 1990, Congress passed several #CleanAirAct Amendments, organized into 11 chapters, or “titles.” 📖 Title V requires all large and many smaller stationary sources of air pollution to have a “TItle V Operating Permit” governing day-to-day facility operations. 📖 A Title V permit gathers all federally enforceable air quality requirements for a facility in one place. This includes many state law requirements that implement the federal regulations.

2023 Road Casualty data has been published. The headline figure is positive with fewer fatalities but some concerns in key areas. 1. Proportion killed not wearing a seatbelt up from a fifth to a quarter 2. Pedestrian fatalities are worryingly up 3. Rural roads - while having fewer fatalities in 2023 - still remain the most dangerous on the network 4. Casualties where a defective surface is listed as a contributory factor are up 5. In addition to the tragic human cost, the economic cost to the UK of road collisions remains at over £40bn a year as an estimate. This figure needs more research so we can truly understand how road traffic collisions are truly impacting on public services. 6. More than 1,600 people die on our roads each year. Would we accept 1,600 aviation and rail fatalities per annum? During the election, IAM RoadSmart published its manifesto for safer roads and motorists. We know that Department for Transport (DfT), United Kingdom is committed to improving road safety and we look forward to working with Government, campaigners and colleagues in the sector to save lives. https://lnkd.in/d7zx_8Zf

The State of California is seeking an exemption from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to implement its Advanced Clean Cars II (ACC II) regulation that will ban the sale of internal combustion engines by 2035. If the EPA grants this exemption, roughly 140 million Americans living in 17 states that have followed all or part of California’s previous clean-car rules will lose their ability to choose what motor vehicle best suits the needs of their families. ACC II’s rush to mandate EVs will adversely impact thousands of specialty aftermarket businesses that make parts or components for ICE vehicles, which account for $17 billion in sales annually. I was proud to testify alongside SEMA members before the EPA in opposition to ACC II. SEMA has also rallied our members and automotive enthusiasts who have sent the EPA over 5,000 letters opposing California’s request for a waiver needed to implement ACC II. If you haven’t sent the EPA a letter opposing ACC II, click the link below to sign and personalize a letter outlining why this regulation should not be implemented. https://p2a.co/criacj9

With over 30,000 people killed or seriously injured on the UK's roads every year, road safety ought to be a hot topic amongst the candidates of this year's General Election. The reality is that the UK has fallen behind other nations when it comes to improving the safety of our roads, and we're currently not on track to reach the United Nations target to halve all road deaths by 2030. There's clearly a lot that can be done by the next government to make things better for road users - here's where Lightfoot MD Paul Hollick believes the focus needs to be in order to see real improvements 👇 #GeneralElection #roadsafety #roadrisk #riskmanagement #fleetsafety
