WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE PLACE IN THE OFFICE: I love being in the office, in this old historic merchants villa. However, what I enjoy more is visiting suppliers and clients. WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST: That the cotton world is like a thanksgiving dinner with family. Everyone knows each other, some you like more, other you like less. But you get along for the sake of cotton. ANYTHING TO ADD: I feel absolutely blessed with working at OSTAs trading desk, its never boring, never not fun, extremely culturally diverse and I get to see places I never knew existed and meet people I will never forget. Journey Through Time: JP's Adventures in the Spirits Industry and the Art of Armagnac What happens when you drive a German Shepherd and a minivan from Florida to Vermont for an internship that changes your life? My guest, Johnathan Page, fondly known as JP and the Minister of Time at Bhakta Spirits, shares his serendipitous journey into the spirits industry. Starting as an intern at Whistlepig in 2017, JP's story is filled with unexpected twists and turns riding shotgun with Raj Bhakta, the founder of Whistlepig and Bhakta Spirits and a force of nature in the spirits world.  JP was alongside Raj as he left Whistlepig, as he took time to find his next venture, and as he discovered the wonders of armagnac. Directing Raj and his partner Leo Gibson from place to place around Tenareze (including some good-natured joking), JP went from a trusted associate to a key figure in Bhakta Spirits' development. He - by his own admission - didn't see himself in the spirits industry. Yet hearing him talk both in person and in this interview, the passion shines. He loves telling stories and meeting new people, introducing them to spirits they never thought they'd try let alone hear about. ✨What smells triggers memories in you?✨ Aromas have the power to awaken unique memories and emotions! I recently baked a banana cake and brought it to work. It took me back to my childhood, remembering when my mother used to make cakes to sell, and my brothers and I would help her make them. My favorite is this caramelized banana cake (Brazilian recipe). The smell of the cake always reminds me of family moments in my childhood, for my mother making cakes was necessary and for us it was fun. She hasn't had to sell cakes for many years now, having achieved her goal of graduating and working as a teacher. This makes me think that we often need to take different paths to achieve our goals. It's amazing how a simple aroma can instantly connect us with such special moments and bring reflections to our lives. For me, it wasn't cake. I did some extra work during my first internship, combining it with my master's degree in order to achieve my goal, which was to raise the money to work in a company or do a PhD abroad. For me, it was the smell of cleaning houses or working as a flyer at weekend parties (this is a great way to have fun and improve your English skills). Anyway, here I am in my third year of a PhD in Germany. Dataset Used : 🔗 https://lnkd.in/gKArcW9s About Dataset The two datasets are related to red and white variants of the Portuguese "Vinho Verde" wine. For more details, consult the reference [Cortez et al., 2009]. Due to privacy and logistic issues, only physicochemical (inputs) and sensory (the output) variables are available (e.g. there is no data about grape types, wine brand, wine selling price, etc.). These datasets can be viewed as classification or regression tasks.
