The perfect partnership for the Game Fair! We are proud to announce we have established a partnership with no1 shooting venue, EJ Churchill, and the countrywear brand hitting the UK by storm Swazi, which will launch at the up coming Game Fair. Swazi, originally from New Zealand, is a true countrywear specialist and has some of the best fleece and outerwear the market has ever seen. We are delighted that this partnership has come together and we cant wait to see it come to fruition. The Game Fair is returning to Blenheim Palace and is sure to be a magnificent occasion for the countrywear market #masterbrandhouse

I agree! Too many Esports leagues whether professional, collegiate, or otherwise forget about the necessary fiscal responsibility for the longevity of the sport. The revenue streams could be similar to other sports yet Esports consistently lacks behind in fundraising. I say in person events becoming more common so audiences can become more engaged is necessary for funding. Esports can't rely on advertisers/stream revenue forever. The organizations need dedicated fanbases willing to buy merchandise. That doesn't happen without in-person events, especially collegiately. Of course this is a continuing discussion and I found Kenneth and Chris' interpretations insightful.

I absolutely LOVE what Chris Postell says here about people who are not from scholastic esports (my addition-have never been in, started, run a team or a program, or developed any type of K16 scholastic esports pipeline) trying to sell scholastic esports. Just because you are a education or EdTech provider and are good at sales or professional development, does not mean you know scholastic esports. Educators, please do your due diligence when selecting partners and providers and if you need guidance, please ask! I’ve helped 30+ districts start sustainable programs and develop solid program goals and student outcomes. Our industry and the students we serve deserve our best! Don’t settle! We need business-minded, career ready graduates, not students who “played esports.

Working alongside and for this man (Chris) for many years, I could not agree more. Especially, when watching him prove these skills daily with his dedication to organization and ethics. He describes one of our industry's biggest needs. It is so true about those of us who come from sports and business sales backgrounds and are now in esports. We are taught skills about RFPs, customer service, operations, marketing, revenue, activations, event management, and sales training. These skills are extremely transferable to so many industries, and we need more students and current professionals learning these skills to help us grow scholastic esports.

ESI London is no more, as the new owners that have snapped up publication and events business Esports Insider have no plans for it to continue. That’s according to Sam Cooke, the co-founder and former MD of Esports Insider, the UK-founded esports industry brand launched in 2016. Esports Insider, host of ESI esports industry conference events like ESI London, ESI Lisbon and more, has been sold by sports betting specialists Sport Global/SBC to an as-of-yet unnamed buyer. And said buyer will be focusing mainly on the Esports Insider news website rather than events. However, Sam has hinted at a new venture, to be announced, which may host events similar to ESI London in the future. Full report on our website #esports #industry #conference #esildn

IJM Games 2024 With the Paris Olympics almost upon us, it is especially timely that IJM just concluded our very own biennial inter-divisional games after a hiatus of 6yrs due in part to Covid restrictions for the preceding few years. The cherry on top is my division Industry emerging as Champions after a drought of 12 years. It is truly heartening to see the manifestation of this year's theme- Unity in Diversity as we all come together in our truly diverse background of different divisions, positions, age, race and religion but all identifying as IJM-ers. Given that the victory is so hard fought with many counting themselves among former and current state and national players, the celebration is just as intense per the video with the clinching of the trophy being the culmination of not 4 days but months of tedious preparation. With over 3,280 employees spread across 4 main divisions and multiple departments, the logistic plan in and of itself is already a mammoth task to transport, house and feed everyone so the fact that everything went without a hitch is a true testament of the coalescing of the hardworking committee members taking personal time after work to make it happen. Having been part of similarly large-sized MNCs, it would most definitely be unheard of for them to spend this amount of money much less allocate 3 working days for this event which may not be apparent immediately nor present itself in tangible numbers however I do believe that the rewards will slowly but surely be felt as good teamworking is the foundation of a strong corporation. For my current colleagues- be proud of being part of a corporation recognising the importance and willing to spend on fostering teamwork whereas for my former colleagues- jgn jeles ye

We recently attended an IT Conference in Orlando, Florida, with over 4,500 other IT Service Providers. Tony Hawk, a legendary figure in skateboarding, graced us as the keynote speaker. If you’re not familiar with Tony Hawk, he’s a pioneer in the sport. He started as an amateur skateboarder at the tender age of 11 and turned professional at 14. Throughout his illustrious career, he’s accomplished incredible feats, such as his iconic 900 trick on national television in 1999 and the immensely successful Tony Hawk video game series, which has generated over $1.4 billion in sales since its launch in 1999. The key takeaways from his keynote address: 1. As a skateboarder, Tony Hawk dedicated himself to continuous improvement, relentlessly striving to enhance his skills and master new tricks. 2. He built a supportive community of fellow skateboarders who shared his passion, provided encouragement, and helped him overcome challenges. 3. He learned new skateboarding advancements in his community and shared them with others, both within and outside the skateboarding community. Tony Hawk’s journey wasn’t without its setbacks. Attempting to execute innovative skateboarding tricks often resulted in broken bones and prolonged recovery periods. I believe there are many similarities between skateboarding and business and life: Continuously Improve, Surround yourself with a strong community, Learn from others, Share with others, Grow through Pain, and Remain Resilient.
