📢 Pro tip for clinic professionals: Avoid the 🐦 birdbath 🐦 by following our ultrasonic cleaning best practice! Here is our how-to: (1) Use two ultrasonic cleaners in your clinic – one for earmold cleaning, and the other strictly for cleaning your reusable clinic tools. For today's tip, we are talking about the former. (2) Obtain wide-mouth shot glasses to hold earmolds and cleaning solution. Since the soundwaves transmit through the shot glass to the fluid inside, less cleaning solution is wasted, and no two clients' molds come into contact with the same fluid. (3) In preparation, fill your ultrasonic cleaner with water, place your dirty earmold into your wide shot glass and fill with fresh earmold cleaning solution. (4) For cleaning, place the shot glass right into your ultrasonic cleaner, ensuring the water in the ultrasonic remains below the rim of the shot glass, and start the cleaning cycle. (5) At the end of the cycle, Dispose of both the cleaning solution and the water. The agitation will mix them, so they are both dirty fluids. In an unexpected move, the CDC has chosen to return Healthcare Infection Control Practices Advisory Committee’s (HICPAC) recommendation against the necessity of respirators in healthcare settings. This decision suggests that the CDC is not in lockstep with HICPAC’s failure to acknowledge that SARS-CoV-2 is airborne and transmits through aerosols. Discover why many experts, including the WHN infection prevention team, reject HICPAC’s recommendation. Read WHN’s letter to the CDC with specific responses to the questions CDC posed to HICPAC. This letter illustrates a science-based approach to masking in healthcare settings, and demonstrates how HICPAC and the CDC should be issuing guidance. ⚡It’s LeviOsa, not LevioSA! It’s HandWashing, not Hand Rinsing!⚡ If Hogwarts had a hospital wing infection prevention team, you know Hermione Granger would be leading it. Wand at the ready, ensuring everyone follows proper hand hygiene. After all, even magic can’t stop the spread of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named-Germs without a good scrubbing. 🫧 In the Muggle Healthcare world, hand hygiene is our most powerful spell against infections like C. difficile, MRSA, and Norovirus. All of which linger like Dementors, waiting to strike. But here’s the catch: a quick splash under the water won’t save you. Just like casting Expelliarmus without proper wand movement, ineffective hand washing leaves you vulnerable. To truly protect patients (and ourselves), we must follow the 5 Moments for Hand Hygiene—our own Defense Against the Dark Arts: 1️⃣ Before touching a patient 2️⃣ Before performing a clean/aseptic procedure 3️⃣ After exposure to bodily fluids 4️⃣ After touching a patient 5️⃣ After touching patient surroundings So, next time you reach for the hand sanitizer or the sink, channel your inner Hermione—because in healthcare, knowledge and hygiene are power! What’s your best infection prevention spell? Drop your favorite Harry Potter-themed infection control tip below! ⚡ #DefenseAgainstTheGerms #infectionPrevention #HandHygieneEducation #SpellboundSanitation #MagicalHandHygiene #SanitizeLikeASeeker #InfectionControlCharm #GermDeflectingSpells #CleanHandsAreMagic #PatronusOfProtection #WashYourHands

Are you sure your disinfection methods are working? According to recent research in the American Journal of Infection Control, gaps in routine hospital disinfection underscore the urgent need for more rigorous approaches. At Intellego Technologies, we prioritize your safety with our UV-C dosimeter cards. These cards not only help validate the precise UV-C dosage required but also ensure that every inch of your healthcare environment is thoroughly disinfected. Here’s how it works: Identify Key Surfaces: Focus on high-touch areas where pathogens are most likely to transfer. Place Dosimeter Cards: Before starting the UV-C disinfection cycle, place our dosimeter cards strategically to measure the exact UV-C exposure. Execute & Audit: After the disinfection cycle, retrieve the cards to see a visual representation of the dosage received and adjust accordingly. With Intellego's dosimeter cards, you can conduct effective audits, ensuring that your disinfection protocols are met and exceeded, protecting against even the most persistent pathogens. Oh, and while you are here, check out this amazing article by the talented Thuc Vu on "How to Be Confident in Your Disinfection: UV-C Disinfection, Dosimeter Cards, and Audits": 🔗 https://lnkd.in/ggZ6mSzz ✅ Step into a safer tomorrow with Intellego. #InfectionControl #HospitalSafety #UVCDosimeter #HealthcareInnovation

𝐃𝐢𝐝 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐊𝐧𝐨𝐰? 🏥🔍 Following our discussion on Isolation Room Class N, let’s dive into Class P! 𝑰𝒔𝒐𝒍𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑹𝒐𝒐𝒎 𝑪𝒍𝒂𝒔𝒔 P is designed with positive pressure, meaning the air pressure inside the room is higher than that outside. This setup has a critical advantage: when a door is opened, air flows out of the room instead of allowing outside air—and potentially harmful germs or particles—to enter. This design is essential for protecting vulnerable patients, ensuring a safe and sterile environment. Positive pressure rooms play a vital role in infection control and patient safety in healthcare settings. •𝑹𝒐𝒐𝒎 𝑳𝒂𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒁𝒐𝒏𝒆𝒔: - 𝘗𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘙𝘰𝘰𝘮: The main area where the patient is isolated. - 𝘉𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘰𝘮: Also maintained under negative pressure. - 𝘈𝘯𝘵𝘦-𝘙𝘰𝘰𝘮: Acts as a buffer zone. It’s crucial for staff transition, with interlocked doors and a one-minute delay before opening to ensure no contaminated air escapes. •𝑷𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒖𝒓𝒆 𝑮𝒓𝒂𝒅𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒔: - 𝘗𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘙𝘰𝘰𝘮: +15 Pa - 𝘉𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘰𝘮: -20 Pa - 𝘈𝘯𝘵𝘦-𝘙𝘰𝘰𝘮: +5 Pa - 𝘊𝘰𝘳𝘳𝘪𝘥𝘰𝘳: 0 Pa 💬 𝑺𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒀𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝑰𝒏𝒔𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕𝒔: Have you worked with Class P Isolation Rooms or similar facilities? What are your thoughts on their effectiveness and design? Comment below with your experiences or questions!
