Uganda is shaping up with Africa’s EV transition amid challenges Last evening I had the privilege to attend a space conducted by the Ministry of Science, Technology & Innovation before the launch of Uganda Electric Mobility Association The theme “What’s in it for Ugandans, the mobility ecosystem” caught my interest It signified that the hope is still there for EV transition but what would the country reap in the long run Tom Courtright started by highlighting the $2billion dollars being spent annually by the government on importing fossil fuel However, he amplified the hope for Uganda to have a sustainable city, air pollution should be curbed by decreasing smoke from ICE vehicles. Dr. Monica Musenero Masanza, the minister for innovation, pointed out there’s need for public awareness on e-mobility. Key Takeaways Geofrey Mutabazi from Karaa Africa: Infrastructure is lagging in the integration of electric bicycles in Uganda but different value chains are adopting electric bicycles for adventure tourism. James Obarowski from Zembo: Integration of hybrid charging systems will offer stable power for charging stations. Janos S Bisasso from GOGO Electric: Asset financing is bridging the gap for acquisition of electric 2-wheelers. What do we learn Collaboration among key players in the EV ecosystem is essential to boost EV adoption E-mobility associations will help to drive policies and standards in the ecosystem African governments are waking up to boost sustainable transport #Uganda #UEMA #sustainability #electricvehicles #africanEVs #charginginfrastructure #electricbikes #electricbicycles

🌍 Exciting News for Uganda's Electric Vehicle (EV) Landscape! I am thrilled to share that while the new budget was passed, Ugandan government has taken a significant step towards fostering sustainable mobility and environmental protection by #exemptingVAT on electric vehicles and EV-related infrastructure. This pivotal decision marks a monumental shift towards cleaner transportation and I believe this move will greatly support EV manufacturers GOGO Electric, Zembo SPIRO Uganda etc, in their efforts to introduce innovative and eco-friendly options to our market. By reducing the financial barriers, which we, at Watu Credit have greatly supported by providing quick & affordable EV loans, we can empower more sector players and thereby accelerating the adoption hence reducing our carbon footprint. Looking foward to more gov't support especially when it comes to the much needed #GridReliability, as we continue to collaborate towards a cleaner, more sustainable future for all. #ElectricVehicles #SustainableTransport #GreenMobility #EnvironmentalProtection #Uganda, #watucredit #EV-financing.

Bombustic Rhetoric In a ranting verbose; the government tries to make e-mobility the messiah of transportation. The robust growth of e-mobility in Kenya is at its core to attaining a 99% green grid by 2030. My voluble eloquence in this nitch of e-mobility is that of an Asian invention during the post-World War II; a rickshaw engine with tuk sounds. The sound of change in the transport sector is louder than the end times trumpet. From a range of tuk-tuks to two-wheelers and four-wheelers, electric evolution is evident in the streets of Nairobi city. The move is a wave that speaks out loud like a loquacious parrot. It is time for Kenyans to embrace this change and make a greener world for all. Reduce CO2 emission; breathe fresh and see the future in your today. James Waweru George M.
