Key question we ask ourselves in the process of expanding the business:- 1) How well do we treat the profession of car washers, polishers/detailers? 2) Why locals are not keen on this job? 3) How much do we invest in skill training & enhancement? Watch the space for our efforts to change the perception of our people on the profession.

SHOULD TATTOOS STILL BE AN ISSUE ONBOARD? As most will be aware, having tattoos onboard most yachts is pretty much a no go area. However there are still some that are happy to allow them. Obviously if they are not on show while in uniform, then there is no issue normally as long as they are kept that way. However I frequently have questions and complaints from crew asking/saying "why don't they allow tattoos?, they need to move with the times". Now to a degree I agree, but to another I strongly disagree. At the end of the day the owners of these yachts have the right to pretty much request what ever they want with regards to crew specifics, after all it is their yacht and money being provided to the crew member. I remember my first large yacht position, I was asked to have my forearm tattoo removed before the first boss trip if they gave me the opportunity of employment. I did have it removed and to be honest I'm glad that I did, as the sacrifice was worth every minute onboard that vessel. However I'm not so sure so many crew now would be willing to do so. Working on a yacht is not an entitlement, its an opportunity being offered to you under certain required terms requested by the owners. Whether you accept them terms or not is entirely up to you. I personally don't think that having a load of tattoos on show looks good as an image for any vessel, but I do also understand that having loads of tattoos does not mean that you are not capable of the workload expected onboard a yacht, and it does not make you look thuggish as some claim. So if this is the case then why shouldn't they be allowed? I am interested to know peoples thoughts on this subject, please feel free to begin the debate if there is one to be had :) #yachtcrew #superyachtcrew #tattoos #yachting #yachtingindustry #yachtjobs #captain #yachtcaptain #chiefofficer #2ndofficer #chiefstewardess #2ndstewardess #deckhand #bosun #chiefengineer #2ndengineer #yachtchef #yachtmanagement

January 18 – 25 is International Snowmobile safety and awareness week! Snowmobile Safety Tips • Wear a helmet, eye protection, and protective clothing that is suitable for the environment in which you are riding. • Do not allow young or inexperienced riders to operate snowmobiles without supervision. • Do not consume alcohol or use drugs before or during your ride. • Learn and practice the proper riding skills while the motor is turned off. • Stay on trails designated for snowmobile use. • Always maintain a safe distance between other riders, and never ride alone. • Always obey the law. • Dress and equip yourself appropriately before riding. Check your local forecast to prevent cold-related illnesses. • Familiarize yourself with the area you are riding in and become aware of potential hazards. • Always ride at a safe and responsible speed. • Clear snow dust off your tail lights frequently. Young, inexperienced riders are much more likely to be involved in serious snowmobiling accidents than their seasoned counterparts. In most states, Safety courses provided by the Department of Natural Resources are mandatory for riders ages 10-15 if they intend to ride off their parents’ property. #snowboarding #safety
