Great to see the roll out of #ActiveStart in North Yorkshire. We've worked closely with Active Cumbria who developed the programme, to train our very own trainers (see Liz Burkinshaw below!) and are now well underway in delivering, thanks to specific health inequalities funding . 🤩 50 people have been through the training 🤩 Nearly 40 settings have an Active Start resource 🤩 100% of learners say their knowledge and awareness of how much activity is needed in the early years has increased 🤩 100% of learners say their understanding of how to include more activity and active play into their day has increased 🤩 100% of learners say their confidence, inspiration and motivation has increased. The training has involved so much discussion which is great! Learners have come away with more ideas for their setting and have been able to talk through some of the challenges they face; for which we are working on some follow up webinars/support. More training is being planned for North Yorkshire in March: https://lnkd.in/epp4e64E #EarlyYears #PhysicalActivity #PhysicalLiteracy #ActivePlay #learning #Movement

Celebrating a great week that included delivering an 'Active Start' workshop for North Yorkshire Sport. 🎉 Awesome support from Jane Ratcliffe at NYSport, who is always a pleasure to work with. If you are an early years setting in the beautiful county of North Yorkshire then get in touch to see how you could benefit from this programme of training and resources.

I write this article with a mix of emotions, one likely shared by the whole SUP community, on learning that this is the last year of the iconic Trent 100.

June session is almost full… checkout 3 reasons why I love the The Grizzly Golf and Social Lodge Swing & Sip Beginner Series. 1. The golf pros! It makes a huge impact when your golf instructors are not only knowledgeable but also engaging, positive and encouraging! 2. This program is an incredible value for all the aspects that it covers- full swing, chipping, putting and on-course instruction 3. Community and support that you get by being part of a group of people relatively new to the game - you have built in cheerleaders and this makes a big difference especially when you’re starting out. Celebrate the wins together- big and small! Bonus- you get 2 drink tickets each week. Put those drinks on ice and bring them with you for the lessons. Then sit on the patio and chat with the girls after formal instruction. https://lnkd.in/esMj_54J Questions? Drop a comment or send a message! Learning how to correctly mark the ball on the green, maintaining a good stance, understanding how to putt from different slopes on the green, and adopting the proper stance are essential skills. More importantly, kids sharing knowledge with their peers is invaluable. #JuniorGolf #Golf #Kids #HolisticDevelopment

Excited to get the new season rolling and get back on the start line! After unfortunate injuries from Redlands and the termination of the NCL, I am coming back to training, building exciting new partnerships, and looking toward Unbound for my comeback race. Tackling Unbound after less than ideal prep is no doubt very intimidating. This race will require mental flexibility and holding expectations loosely. However, my story of last season is inspiring me to continue showing up and toeing the line with zero expectations except to face a mental and physical challenge and give myself an opporuntity to surprise myself. While my current preparation is far from where I'd like it to be, this is a unique opporuntity to connect with the mass participants of these off road events who may not have the support or ability for perfect preparation or a perfect bike set up. It is an opportunity to tell a story that can inspire people who may doubt themselves that they can also show up to the challenge of these events despite perceived barriers. The professionalism of gravel is exciting and I recognize I am in that group of professionals, but I am also someone who has "run what they brung" in the past and embraced the underdog mentality of gravel (dare I say the spirit of gravel). I see gravel as a physical and mental challenge that now has a competitive side that fuels exciting performances and innovation. Unbound for me will be a challenge, one that may be too big, but I am committed to showing up because if that can inspire one person to tackle a challenge in their own lives than it is worth it.

Iroquois staff and students took advantage of last week's beautiful summer weather and had a cookout. Afterward, there were lawn games, dancing, and enjoying the day. Training is always better when one has breaks. And summer is better shared. #jobcorps #careersbeginhere #JobCorpsJourney #thenationaljobcorpsassociation #studentsuccess #SummerActivities #summercookout #positiveculture

Third Position✨🩰 In third position the heel of the front foot meets the middle of the back foot. Both legs are turned out rotating from the hips This position is also used as a training for fifth position, and once students reach a certain level in their training, third position is rarely used. #BarreBelleBallet #danceeducation #thirdpositionballet #charlottenc #thenewway #cultureforall

Horses: Judging Skilled Riding By Looking at the Horses While this is not always foolproof and there are certainly moments in time that may look not good, if you watch horses being ridden, you can get a good sense of how they are managing on a physical, mental and emotional level. If you look at the photos here in this montage you will, hopefully, see which ones are more likely to be properly prepared for what they are being asked to do. Learning to see these signs so that you can pick your role models carefully is essential in this industry, where winning is mostly NOT judged with this consideration. Being a horseperson should surely require that the horse does not suffer due to our actions, and that we should be sufficiently aware and educated to evaluate. Defining a skilled rider from an ethical perspective is something that we have done in one of our prior online conferences. Since 2017, our team at Easy Mile Fitness has prioritized Monthly Offsites for our +40 General Managers. With 90 meetings under our belt, these sessions may look a little bit different than the old days, but remain an important space for discussing the business, sharing best practices, and fostering team camaraderie. 📈💡🤝 While each of our Planet Fitness locations is unique, these Offsites allow the team to collaborate on how to address common challenges across the organization. By working together, we can brainstorm innovative ideas to enhance the experience for our ~300,000 members and the 50,000 daily visitors to our facilities. Despite our organization's growth and changes, the commitment to these team gatherings has never wavered. While no longer run by Philip Amato and myself, under the much more effective leadership of Mandi Castagnola and Keishla Tejedor Rodriguez these Offsites have only become a more important part of our business. Looking forward to many more great Offsites to come!👏 #TeamBuilding #Leadership #Collaboration #BusinessGrowth
