I got banned from TikTok. My account was suspended due to having a firearm present. Is this type of censorship constitutional?? Absolutely not. Platforms should not have the authority to arbitrarily decide what content is permissible, especially when it comes to expressing our constitutional rights. As citizens, we must remain vigilant in protecting these rights and hold platforms like TikTok accountable for their actions. If elected County Commissioner, I will go to great lengths to protect our rights as citizens of this country. #AVoiceForThePeople #IdahoGov #Idahome #Commissioner #LocalPolitics #CDA #PostFalls #Hayden #Kootenai #KootenaiCounty #PublicService #Padula4Commissioner Paid for by John Padula for County Commissioner, Treasurer Abi Shove

Did you know TikTok must face lawsuit over 10 year old girls death? A U.S. appeals court has ruled that TikTok must face a lawsuit filed by the mother of a 10-year-old girl who died after participating in a viral "blackout challenge." The court decided that Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, which generally protects internet companies from liability for user-generated content, does not shield TikTok from claims that its algorithm recommended the dangerous challenge. This decision challenges previous rulings by considering algorithmic content curation as a form of company speech not covered by the law's protections. #tiktok #communications #10year #doesnot #appealscourt #donot #appealcourt #internetcompany #contentcuration #lawsuit #girlie #girlpower #appeals #court #mommy #girl #challenge #decency #act #internet #cloudcomputing #businesspassion #liability #user #content #algorithm #speech #speeches #law

TikTok vs. the US Government: A First Amendment Showdown? ⚖️ Is forcing TikTok to sell itself a violation of free speech? That's the argument the company's making in a new lawsuit. The US government banned TikTok over national security concerns, but TikTok says the law is too broad and chills free speech. They argue the forced sale is basically a government mandated platform change. Courts usually don't allow the government to restrict speech before it happens, and this case could have big implications for other social media platforms too. What do you think? Should the government have the power to ban apps based on ownership? Let's discuss in the comments below! A U.S. appeals court has dealt a significant blow to Big Tech by ruling that TikTok can be held liable for promoting harmful content through its algorithms, specifically in the tragic case of a 10-year-old girl’s death from a dangerous challenge. This ruling challenges the broad immunity previously granted under Section 230, potentially setting a precedent for holding social media platforms accountable for the content they push to users. X/Twitter Is Officially Allowing Porn and Other Adult Content X/Twitter has officially updated its guidelines, now allowing for the sharing of pornographic and other adult-themed content on the platform. This significant shift in policy marks a departure from previous restrictions and opens the door for users to engage with a wider range of content. Key Points: *Policy Update: X/Twitter now permits the sharing of consensually produced and distributed adult nudity or sexual behavior. *Restrictions: Adult content should not be displayed in obvious places such as profile pictures or banners. *Content Warnings: Users who regularly post adult content are encouraged to use content warnings to prevent unintended exposure, particularly to minors or users who have not provided their birth date. *Autonomy and Artistic Expression: X/Twitter emphasizes the autonomy of adults to engage with and create sexual content as a legitimate form of artistic expression. Background: *Increasing Trend: The decision to allow NSFW content on X/Twitter reflects a growing trend, with platforms recognizing the importance of accommodating diverse forms of expression. *Community Guidelines: X/Twitter's move parallels similar shifts in other platforms, such as Tumblr, which adjusted its guidelines to allow nudity while still imposing restrictions on sexually explicit imagery. *Financial Considerations: The policy change also aligns with X/Twitter's efforts to explore new revenue streams amid challenges such as advertiser departures. Is there an impending Tiktok ban in Australia? News in from the USA (2 days ago), the platform ban will be written into law. There is little doubt that Australian regulators will be considering the same thing. My ten cents. If you are a business on TikTok and not exploring the potential of Youtube Shorts (and Youtube shop), and/or Instagram Reels, now might be a very good time to do so. Diversifying your strategy could be very wise. There may be a whole lot of displaced TikTok audiences looking for a new home very soon.
