A special evacuation flight carrying more than 70 Pakistanis from Lebanon successfully landed at Jinnah International Karachi Airport at 3 PM Wednesday. The flight was delayed but safely touched down aboard a foreign airline's Airbus 320. Civil Aviation (CAA) authorities had granted permission for the special flight, and all necessary arrangements were made for the safe return of the Pakistani nationals. The evacuated individuals were greeted with special provisions arranged by authorities to ensure a smooth process upon their arrival. Situation in the Middle East The situation in the Middle East, particularly in Lebanon, has grown increasingly dire as the ongoing Israeli offensive in the region escalates. Beirut, a central hub of the conflict, has become a focal point for intense military action, prompting countries around the world to take swift measures to repatriate their citizens from the volatile region. In the wake of the Israeli onslaught, several nations, including Pakistan, have organized special evacuation flights to ensure the safety of their citizens. The deteriorating security situation has placed immense pressure on foreign governments to act quickly, as the region faces mounting instability and the threat of further violence. #Pakistanis #warhit #Lebanon #land #Karachi #via #special #flight #foryoupage #247newsupdate

[𝐋𝐎𝐆𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐂𝐒 - 𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐄𝐈𝐆𝐍 𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐃𝐄 𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐒𝐋𝐄𝐓𝐓𝐄𝐑] 𝐇𝐎𝐔𝐓𝐇𝐈 𝐓𝐇𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐍𝐒 𝐓𝐎 𝐈𝐍𝐂𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐄 𝐀𝐓𝐓𝐀𝐂𝐊𝐒 𝐎𝐍 𝐂𝐀𝐑𝐆𝐎 𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐏𝐒 𝐃𝐔𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐑𝐀𝐌𝐀𝐃𝐀𝐍 Houthis claimed to have attacked a US container ship in the Red Sea and warned of increased attacks on cargo ships during the month of Ramadan. According to the database of the global shipping information system Equasis and the International Maritime Organization (IMO) of the United Nations, Pinocchio is a Liberian-flagged container ship and is owned by the company OM-MAR 5 INC, signed in Singapore. The Houthi main television channel, Al Masirah, previously said that the US-UK coalition on March 11 carried out more than a dozen airstrikes against this force's targets in the port city of Hodeidah and coastal areas west, leaving at least 11 people dead and 14 injured. Al Masirah did not specify the targets attacked, but said four of them occurred in Ras Issa port. Despite attacks from the US-UK coalition and other naval forces, the Houthis still escalated their campaign to attack cargo ships in one of the busiest shipping lanes in the world. Many ships are taking longer, more expensive journeys around Africa's Cape of Good Hope to avoid the dangerous route through the Gulf of Aden, the Red Sea and the Suez Canal, driving up shipping costs. From 1964 to 1973, the USA dropped more than two million tons of ordnance on Laos during 580,000 bombing missions—equal to a planeload of bombs every 8 minutes, 24-hours a day, for 9 years – making Laos the most heavily bombed country per capita in history and killing 10% of its population. In 2021, construction of the China-Laos bullet train was completed. It took 5 months to clear all the American bombs along the railway. The designated rail speed of 160 kilometers per hour shortens the travel time from Vientiane to Moding on the China-Laos border from two days to around three hours. The electrified passenger and cargo railway will eventually be connected to railways in Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore. There is no high speed rail in the United States of America and much of the country sees its infastructure crumbling.

The Ministry of Aviation has disclosed that the outstanding amount in the aeronautical sector for the year 2022-23 is Rs. 18.828 billion, with M/s. PIACL accounting for 98% of this total. Despite efforts by the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) to collect dues, only small amounts have been retrieved from the national flag carrier. While five domestic airlines, except PIACL, regularly pay their aeronautical dues, foreign airlines have a recovery ratio of 99.99%. The PCAA now requires foreign operators/airlines to clear outstanding dues before receiving flight permission. The recovery ratios for General Aviation and Flight Permission issued to Authorized agents are 99.98% and 97.92%, respectively, and efforts are ongoing to collect remaining outstanding dues. The PCAA is working to recover dues from embassies for Military and civil flight permissions issued, with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs involved in the process. Additionally, the PCAA has successfully recovered outstanding dues from M/s. Jordan Aviation for non-operational aircraft parked at JIAP, Karachi, despite legal challenges from some airlines with such aircraft. #PIA #Air #Pakistan #Navigation

WHAT A DIFFERENCE A YEAR MAKES BY Glyn Hughes, Director General of The International Air Cargo Association TIACA By looking at the pure data, the numbers would indicate that air cargo volumes have not just returned to pre-Covid levels but, in fact. the industry has moved on beyond them, with the last six months showing double-digit growth compared to 2023. But this then generates several often-asked questions; Where is the business coming from? Will it continue? What will happen in Q4? Is it all e-commerce? The answers to those questions are not easily addressed. What we do know November 2023 saw Houthis in Yemen announce they would attack commercial ships associated with Israel, the US and Europe sailing through the Red sea in response to Israel’s military action in Gaza. Up to the middle of July, Bloomberg reported that there have been over 65 reported incidents with 18 ships having been struck with missiles. Despite military action targeting the missile launch sites, the attacks continue. Maritime analysts and risk assessors suggest that the attacks will likely to continue for the remainder of 2024 and into 2025. Maritime operators have stressed they will not return to the shorter more efficient Red Sea shipping lanes until it is safe to do so for crew and cargo. The consequential impact on journey times from Asia to Europe and on overall shipping costs has resulted in the narrowing of air cargo / maritime differentials. A more competitive air cargo industry results in increased volumes. Shortages in shipping containers also promote a shift to air cargo.
