Don't join ACCA... 🚫 This was a recent conversation I had with an aspirant who is considering ACCA, believing it to be easier than other courses: 👉 "I’ll be direct and honest - don’t join ACCA if you think it’s easy. The best part about ACCA from other courses is that it provides flexibility that you can take minimum one exam at a time, at your own pace and preparation. But don’t misjudge as the exam level is just as challenging as any other professional course. 📚 You’re expected to demonstrate knowledge, not just memorize. While some memorization is required (as in every profession), you can write answers in your own words. 📝 ✅ And if you are a prior commerce student, you will have an advantage as your prior knowledge will help you learn concept early and clearly, but the effort required for ACCA exams is no less than any exam you are comparing. 🌟 One thing I love about ACCA is the case-study-based books—they make learning practical and insightful, which I feel is the right way to approach education." Are you worried about whether you'll be able to clear your ACCA exams? 🤔 If you think ACCA is easy and you'll easily clear through it, well sorry to disappoint you. but the answer is NO. ❌ Also, if you think that ACCA is very difficult to pass because you have heard from friends or fellow students that there are lot of case studies, lot of writing, and very few practical subjects. again, the answer is NO. ❌ So what is the Truth then? See, the reality of whether it's easy or tough will only be known to you and only to you once you expose yourself to it as the your journey for ACCA will be unique to you. 🌟 Whether you find ACCA subjects easy or tough depends on: -Your previous level of knowledge 📚 -Your interest in the subject 📖 -The conceptual clarity you achieve 💡 -The amount of question practice you do 📝 -Your understanding of ACCA exam patterns  📑 -Many students lack in one or more of these areas. My teacher once told a quote which even today I strongly believe: nothing is easy or difficult. If you have knowledge about something, it will be easy. If you don't, it will always be difficult. 🌈 Your task as a student is to turn the part of unknown into the known. As you learn more, the subjects will become easier for you. 🧠 But, everyone has different learning speeds. Concept clarity and question practice are crucial. If you lack either, ACCA subjects will likely be difficult for you.  🔍 So, whether ACCA will be easy or tough for you depends on your preparation and knowledge. Your experience will be unique, just as your fellow students' experiences will be unique to them. 🌍 I hope this gives you a clearer idea. ACCA Exemptions: A Shortcut or a Setback? I’m often asked whether it’s wise to take ACCA exemptions. While the idea of skipping certain exams can be tempting—after all, why study more when you could get closer to your degree sooner?—I’d advise thinking carefully about the long-term impact. My answer is a clear ‘No’ for most students, and here’s why. ACCA allows exemptions for knowledge-level papers, which cover foundational concepts that are essential as you progress to advanced levels. These basics are often referenced in skills and professional-level exams, with an assumption that you’re already familiar with them. Some might argue that they learned these basics in their bachelor’s degree, but trust me, the depth required for ACCA exams is far greater. However, if you’re coming into ACCA with significant background knowledge from a similar professional qualification, you might consider exemptions if you’re already proficient in these areas. Otherwise, skipping these foundational papers could mean missing out on critical understanding—something that may ultimately cost you time, effort, and money as you move forward in the program.
