POV: when you’ve spent as much time building out and investor deck as the business itself. Who else can relate to this?! The past 5 months, I have worked relentlessly on building out the perfect investor deck for #SquishTown. From the structuring to the choice of words, visuals to the number verifications, the entire process has been tedious but rewarding none the less. One of the key learnings Ive had on this journey is the importance of a good ‘investor deck’. Here’s are a few Do’s and Don’ts from my journey that I would like to share - 1. Know Your Audience and tailor to their preferences 2. Have a clear Value Proposition. Define the problem, solution, and uniqueness 3. Show market demand and validation 4. Present realistic financial projections 5. Elaborate on team structure and highlight team strengths 6. Emphasise growth potential and future scalability 7. Use effective visuals aids to make the pitch less verbose 8. Acknowledge and address risks 9. Avoid excess jargon 10. Keep it honest 11. Acknowledge Competition 12. Stay focused and stick to key points 13. Present researched financials 14. Address Questions and queries (FAQ’s help) 15. Learn from investor feedback and pivot where needed #InvestorDeck #RaisingCapital #ScalingBusinesses #Investors #SeedFunding #InvestorsPitch #SharkTankIndia

Just got the best investor update from Shinji Kim, founder of Select Star. It was concise, focused on the most important company priorities, and included a specific ask. Most impressively, it was honest and not a highlight reel. I know founders have to weigh a lot when sending investor updates (where does one even begin sometimes!?) which isn’t easy. There’s no right way to do it. But it’s always great to see one that truly cuts through the noise and gives a clear picture of where things stand.

Scroll LinkedIn for 5 min & you will see everybody crush it at what they do Staggering investment portfolios, smooth acquisitions… But reality can be quite different… Because struggles are rarely revealed. However, they occur more often than you think. Especially when you’re a business owner. March 15, 2023 → The day I won’t ever forget. One of our properties got hit by an arsonist, knocking eight units offline. I knew it would damage the company, but our “bad luck” didn’t end there. April 17th, 2023 → Another “surprise” I got a call from the property management company. Another building of ours was on fire. Honestly, I could not believe how unlucky we were. For a few months, I dwindled in these negative thoughts. Thinking: “Why did it have to happen to us?” But turns out that what I considered the worst also ended up being a catalyst. Because today, GenWealth Capital is better as a company and well-prepared to tackle future challenges. When things aren’t rolling your way → don’t linger in the blues When life is treating you good → stay humble & grateful Embrace the process instead of thinking only about the end goal. There might be ups & downs, but many great things happen along the way. Embrace them & enjoy the ride. If you liked this, you might love my content too. Hit the 🔔 icon in my profile.
