What are the theological virtues? The theological virtues have God himself as their origin, motive and direct object. Infused with sanctifying grace, they bestow on one the capacity to live in a relationship with the Trinity. They are the foundation and the energizing force of the Christian's moral activity and they give live to the human virtues. They are the pledge of the presence and action of the Holy Spirit in the faculties of the human being. Further reading: CCC 1812-1813, 1840-1841

I think we will be helped, first, by being wary of elevating any one grace of the Christian life and making it the main theme of our spiritual life. This is sure to lead to imbalance and error. The main theme should be God himself. https://lnkd.in/dVq7ivxe

Criticism is an integral part of societal or nation building. It is an avenue to discourage self-centeredness and encourage selflessness in any given society. However, criticism is constructive and ideal when the critics are exonerated from the depravity of the critique. Unfortunately, the society has descended so low to an extent at which people criticize things they do and carry out actions they publicly criticized. Factually speaking, if we must change the disposition of the society for good, it is high time we separated ourselves from her corrupt practices. We cannot be part of the corrupt society while we envisage for better changes. Good changes must begin with us. Like Jesus Christ who condemned the vain religion and doctrines of the pharisees but pointed them to the right way through his exampilary lifestyle. Our exemplary lifestyles must challenge the world to change from her evil disposition. God helps us to live a practical christian's life, I pray. Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.(ROMAN2:1). Good evening!

The Ultimate Proof of Faith: The Fear of the LORD In the realm of spirituality, faith stands as a cornerstone — a bridge connecting humanity to the divine. Yet, within the intricate tapestry of faith, there exists a pinnacle — a summit reached only by those who have embraced the reverential fear of the LORD. Proverbs 9:10 illuminates this truth: “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” Here, fear transcends mere trepidation; it embodies profound reverence, an acknowledgment of the infinite majesty and sovereignty of God. It is not a fear born of dread but of awe — a recognition of His omnipotence and perfection. Hebrews 11:6 further elucidates, declaring, “Without faith, it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” This verse lays bare the essence of faith — it is the conduit through which we perceive the divine, trusting in His existence and His benevolence toward those who seek Him. Romans 10:17 unveils another facet of this intricate relationship: “Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.” Here, the Word of God emerges as the catalyst for faith, the beacon guiding souls toward divine understanding and acceptance. Yet, nestled within these passages lies a profound revelation — the intertwining of faith and the fear of the LORD. The fear of the LORD is not a separate entity but a manifestation of faith in its purest form. It is the deep-rooted conviction that arises from an intimate knowledge of God and His ways, cultivated through diligent study of His Word. As faith blossoms through the hearing of God’s message, so too does the fear of the LORD take root in the fertile soil of understanding. It is not solely about what God can do or has done but about who He is — the Alpha and Omega, the Creator and Sustainer of all things. It is an unwavering allegiance, a surrender of self to His divine will. In this symbiotic relationship between faith and the fear of the LORD, we find the essence of our journey with God. It is a pilgrimage marked by continual growth and deepening intimacy — a journey fueled by the unwavering conviction that springs forth from the well of faith. As we immerse ourselves in His Word, we are transformed, our faith fortified, and our reverence for Him deepened. Ultimately, the fear of the LORD stands as the ultimate proof of our faith — a testament to our unwavering trust in His sovereignty and goodness. It is not a fear of punishment but a reverence born of love — a love that propels us ever closer to the heart of God. May we, therefore, strive to cultivate this reverential fear of the LORD, allowing it to permeate every facet of our lives and serve as the bedrock of our faith. For in this sacred union lies the essence of true discipleship and the fulfillment of our divine purpose.
