Dear Friends of G a zz a The urgent situation in G a zz a demands our immediate attention. United Nations and International aid organizations have sounded the alarm about the collapse of the healthcare system, putting the lives of countless individuals at risk. From maternity units to intensive care facilities, the shortage of crucial medical supplies and fuel is endangering the most vulnerable members of society. It is truly distressing that most people in G a zz a lack access to necessities such as food, water, medicine, and hygiene supplies. It is heartbreaking to learn that thousands are resorting to digging latrine pits near their homes due to the scarcity of communal facilities. The living conditions in G a zz a are nothing short of a humanitarian crisis, and we must take action to alleviate the suffering. It is evident that survival, not living, has become a daily struggle for the inhabitants of G a zz a. Families packed into overcrowded shelters, often sleeping in makeshift tents made from plastic sheets or tattered blankets. The healthcare system has a few partially operational hospitals struggling to cope with the influx of trauma patients, 90,000 wounded, and 1.7 million infected with infectious diseases and devastating injuries. This situation demands our immediate attention and support. Also, the children of G a zz a are enduring unimaginable trauma and suffering after three hundred days of displacement, loss, and pain. It is time to support a Back-to-School program to provide activities that offer G a zz a's children shelter from the ongoing horrors, through sports, arts, drama, games, and creating a space to meet friends. Palestinian teachers can offer a glimpse of hope in the darkness. We are seeing a shortage of supply and services needed from non-profits to meet the needs of our communities. Canada's non-profit sector encompasses a wide array of organizations, contributing to areas such as social welfare, community development and advocacy. This sector is an essential component of the Canadian economy and bridges service gaps by facilitating access to housing, health care and education along with a variety of other goods and services. In 2023, the general public (42.1%) made up the largest percentage of the groups that non-profits primarily serve, followed by children and youth (14.2%), religious or spiritual groups (9.1%), people in particular occupations and union groups (4.7%). Children aren't just our future, they're gifts that colour our world. Subjecting them to labour instead of equipping them for the future is an unpardonable offense against humanity. At Infratel Africa, children are dear to us that's why we put them at the center of our initiatives, providing them with e-learning centers to access quality education and also, donating generously to motherless baby homes to cater for their welfare. Government allocates Rs.2 billion to Pakistan Bait-ul-Maal to resolve 28,000 pending applications for medical treatment, education, and financial assistance. This funding aims to clear monetary inconsistencies and support the poor and needy across Pakistan. The allocation will also address 13,000 pending medical cases and settle overdue wages for employees. The move comes after issues with unauthorized fund transfers and unreturned funds. One of the most difficult things to do in Pakistan is doing welfare work. No one is actually ready to support selflessly. While doing free medical camps none of the companies were ready to donate medicines or even help us buy at the manufacturing cost. None of the businesses were ready to support because this won't count in CSR or whatever they give to avail tax benefits. Even philanthropic is being seen under a give and take phenomena. Instead of support you have to face hurdles when you are helping others. The only positive thing is the passion of volunteers, teachers and young professionals who have always been ready to help others! Will never let such negativity stop this cycle of serving Humanity! We will do as much as we can through All Pakistan Students Union-APSU to help the deserving ones.

Who Stands to Gain and Lose? The presence of missionaries in Kenya dates back to the 1400s. While opinions may vary, there is no denying that many of them have made significant contributions to the country's development and the upliftment of society. From education, where numerous children have gained access to schooling through scholarships funded by generous donations, to healthcare, where many patients have been treated and healed in renowned mission hospitals. Even in remote areas like Alale in West Pokot, mission efforts have brought vital resources such as clean water and medical care, including the presence of doctors in villages where none existed before. However, we are in a different era now, and certain realities are being overlooked. Though I may not have precise statistics, it's evident that the number of missionaries in Kenya has drastically decreased, in part due to government regulations. Recently, the government quietly increased the permit fee for missionaries from Ksh. 15,000 to Ksh. 150,000—without offering any clear explanation as to how this figure was determined. Moreover, there is no transparency on where the money collected from these fees is being directed. I feel compelled to raise this issue because I understand the impact it will have. Young people are already suffering as donors withdraw their support, leaving many jobless because foreign missionaries often are the source of funding and employment and are no longer coming. What happened to the compassion you claimed to have for the so-called 'Hustlers'? What plans do you have for the children, the hospitals, the impoverished families? How do you intend to address the difficult and miserable conditions you are helping to create?
