Here is what is needed to address one of the most challenging problems in Iraq. The housing sector in the urban centers of the country continues to be very problematic. Crowded urban centers, exorbitant housing prices, and lack of appropriate housing. With nearly 3.5 million people living in slums, and countless many remaining in displacement or informal settlments, the government's effort to address this issue seem to be too little too late and largely futile. Increasing the number of housing unit is only a temporary remedy but not the final solution.
