Hello Linkdinn!! 💡 Lets take quick review about below points : What is API testing : API testing is a type of software testing that focuses on verifying that application programming interfaces (APIs) function correctly, efficiently, and securely. It involves checking the interactions between different software components and ensuring that they meet expected behaviors and performance standards. Key aspects of API testing include : 🎯 Functionality Testing: Ensuring that the API performs the required functions and returns the expected responses. 🎯 Reliability Testing: Verifying that the API is consistently available and can handle repeated requests without failures. 🎯 Performance Testing: Assessing how the API behaves under various load conditions, including response times and resource usage. 🎯 Security Testing: Checking for vulnerabilities in the API that could be exploited, ensuring that data is protected and only authorized users can access it. 🎯 Data Integrity Testing: Ensuring that the data sent to and from the API remains accurate and consistent. #ManualAutomationTesting #Softwareengineers #Securitytesting #APITesting #Postman

What is API testing? API testing is a type of software testing that analyzes an application program interface (API) to verify that it fulfills its expected functionality, security, performance and reliability. The tests are performed either directly on the API or as part of integration testing. An API is code that enables the communication exchange of data between two software programs. An application typically consists of multiple layers, including an API layer. API layers focus on the business logic in applications, defining requests such as how to make them and the data formats used. As opposed to user interface (UI) testing, which focuses on validating the application's look and feel, API testing focuses on analyzing the application's business logic as well as security and data responses. An API test is generally performed by making requests to one or more API endpoints and comparing the responses with expected results. API testing is generally performed by using software to send calls to API endpoints to validate the system's response. #apitesting #restfulapi #postman #qa #sdet

Here's a video I made a while ago. It's about taking bugs from just reporting them, into a helpful report. Oh, and who needs to join this effort. After all, we're not just coming after bugs. 📚Definition — API testing is the process of testing APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) directly, focusing on their functionality, reliability, performance, and security. 🔎Methods — Common API methods include GET (retrieve data), POST (submit data), PUT (update data), and DELETE (remove data). Testing involves sending requests and validating responses. 🪩Workflow — API testing is often performed in a black-box testing manner, treating the API as a closed system. It verifies correct performance and error handling before integration. 🗝️Advantages — API testing is time-effective, language-independent, tests core functionality, reduces testing costs, and mitigates risks by identifying issues early.

The Critical Role of API Testing in Modern Development 🌐🔍 APIs are the backbone of modern software architectures, and API testing ensures that your systems are communicating smoothly. API tests validate the performance, security, and functionality of your back-end services, which are crucial for building reliable applications. Why API Testing is Essential: 1️⃣ Fast Feedback: API tests are fast and can be run independently of the front-end, providing immediate feedback to developers. 2️⃣ Better Coverage: API tests cover critical functionalities that may not be directly accessible through UI tests. 3️⃣ Performance Under Load: API testing can simulate high-load conditions to ensure your services scale properly. 🔑 Pro Tip: Leverage tools like Postman, SoapUI, or RestAssured to automate API tests and integrate them into your CI/CD pipelines. #APITesting #QualityEngineering #AutomationTesting #BackendTesting #RestAssured #Postman #CI_CD

⚠️ Facing issues with dynamic data or test environments in API testing? You’re not alone—here’s how to solve them!⚠️ API testing can sometimes be tricky, but it’s absolutely essential for building reliable, scalable, and secure applications. Here are a few common challenges I’ve encountered—and how to tackle them: 💥 Challenge: Handling Dynamic Data (e.g., tokens, session IDs) ✅ Solution: Use Pre-request scripts in Postman to generate dynamic data before sending a request. 💥 Challenge: Test Data Management ✅ Solution: Adopt environment and global variables to manage different test environments efficiently without hardcoding values. 💥 Challenge: Testing Unavailable APIs ✅ Solution: Use mock servers to simulate API responses when the actual service is unavailable. This is a game-changer during development phases. 💥 Challenge: Security Testing ✅ Solution: Ensure to include checks for authentication, authorization, and vulnerabilities like SQL Injection and Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) in your API testing suite. ✨ Pro Tip: Integrating security and performance testing within your API test suite makes sure you’re delivering a robust product to your users.
