Late recap on Plug and Play Silicon Valley Summit at Plug and Play Tech Center This won't be a default "key takeaways" post, rather I would love to talk about people. 1. Borja Aznar-Bonilla and Luis Llorens Gonzalez are from Plug and Play Spain branch, and they are the ones, why I could visit this Summit. Thanks you guys! 2. Janie Yu gave a speech about AI in Retail & Brands, especially focusing on idea of "synthetic customer". We had a chance to catch up a little bit after, but there is so much more to discover in this concept. Synthetic customers is where I see the future of all consumer products. 3. with Nick Nelson we had a chance to talk about Seattle (my Microsoft days) and future of AI in different industries. 4. Jinwook Lee is ex-SpaceX engineer who is working on his own company right now, we had a chance to talk about turbomachinery and AI applications. By the way, he is currently #hiring, so in case anyone from my network interested, ping him 5. Another highlight speech was by Mohamed Kanji. He gave an excellent keynote about how being consumer-centric, open to innovations and sustainable green tech is important for L'Oréal. I also agree with his take on partnerships and collaborations. Plug and Play Brand & Retail part of Summit was extremely interesting, a lot of great startups, that are solving the top problems using AI. We, at KenesAI, have a mission to help Retail & Brands understand their consumers deeper, meet their expectations and needs without spending tons of money on experimenting. Decreasing churn, driving loyalty and more revenue with less money spent on testing strategies. P.S. I have to start taking more photos from conferences myself!

💭 How do I invite the world to be a part of the most interesting discussions? 1 year ago, after connecting with Hassan Chaudhury, I began following him around the conference circuit ( I couldn't keep up with him if I'm honest). I was captivated by some of the topics and discussions I got to witness. Discussions around the problems of today, solutions for tomorrow, ideating around the possibilities in the future and all-round just full of inspiration. Train journeys home were spent ruminating: The value of those discussions are so astronomically high, how can I pack the world into that room? ⚙️ The cogwheels in my brain were going into overdrive with ideas. Dr Junaid Hussain brilliantly put it in a post... at one point you have to go from consuming to creating and contributing. I meet so many people who consume online, but are afraid of hitting that Like button let alone offering their opinion. But those very panels I've witnessed, the guests who spoke about the future and the audience members who asked questions sparked a very special idea within me. An idea to invite people to get involved in the most interesting discussions happening in the world. We won't be polishing it because we've learned the best way to do things, is to do it with the users themselves. Thank you Patrick Griss of Zühlke Ventures for moderating what many participants thought was one of the best panels of SUD2024. We explored the challenges entrepreneurs face when building and scaling DeepTech (ie hardware intensive) companies. A packed room participated in the journeys of Founders Michael Friedrich (Distal Motion SA) and Mahmoud Haddad (Inergio SA) and received insights from Jens Krauss, V-P at CSEM in Neuchâtel. Some key learnings: - Hardware is hard: everything takes longer and consumes tons of cash (WIP inventories!) - DeepTech provides a better "moat" against copycats - Expect to pivot once or twice in search of PMF - Europe has shot itself in the foot with the new medical regulation process: most MedTech companies are now looking to the US for a first product release - Don't try to come out with a perfect product from the outset. Get customer feedback early and iterate Very much looking forward to next year's edition already!
