Would be great to get thoughts about the current situation WRT SF’s value proposition and the current situation with respect to recruiting and force fill.
Word on the street is that recruiting is down, the Global War on Terror generation of soldiers is retiring, and SOF has been directed to cut personnel.
Fran Racioppi challenged the U.S. Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School Command Team, Commanding General Brigadier General Will Beaurpere and Command Sergeant Major Lee Strong from the JFK Special Warfare Museum at Fort Liberty, NC, to share how they are meeting the personnel needs of the Regiment while enforcing standards, continuously improving professionalism, and integrating technology and automation into the force.

Blue and yellow are the Air Force colors. Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations. Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel.
The spider web represents the wisdom, labor and prudence of the unit, as well as the World Wide Web. The sword and lightning bolts signify justice, military honor, and the information warfare aspects of the unit. The knight pieces allude to bravery and strength.
Great to see the picture of the new recruits from the 64th annual St. Louis Cardinals Company. Our 66th St. Louis Cardinals Company will be sworn in at the June 13 St. Louis Cardinals game.
The DOD and services also need to review the DOD instruction on permanently disqualifying (PDQ) issues and develop new policies based on modern military medicine and treatment. There is a benefit to recruiting more by reevaluating the DOD PDQ instruction.
Additionally, empowering the senior officers in charge of each service’s recruiting command with greater waiver authorities would be a significant step forward.

As does iron sharpen iron, Space sharpens Joint! Space is more than a fixed position of advantage to be leveraged ... it is the fine-pointed edge of our asymmetric lethality. We will outthink, outpace, and overmatch any opponent through our overwhelming options.

Gen. Stephen Whiting, #USSPACECOM commander, and Chief Master Sgt. Jacob Simmons, USSPACECOM command senior enlisted leader, hosted fellows from National Defense University's Keystone course where they received briefs on how USSPACECOM conducts operations in support of the joint fight.
The Keystone course educates command senior enlisted leaders who are currently serving in, or slated to serve in, a general or flag-officer level position at a joint or service headquarters, including potential joint task force assignments. USSPACECOM works with senior leaders across the United States Department of Defense and our Allies to foster a warfighting culture, which is instrumental to the rapidly advancing capability of the Joint Force.
Lt. Col. Raible’s comments are as applicable to a Marine combat pilot providing close air support to dusty infantrymen in combat as they are to a computer engineer supporting a product rollout from an air-conditioned office.
• Continually seek self-improvement.
• Do the right thing, even when no one is watching.
• And always strive for greatness, regardless of the mission.
Following these three simple rules all but guarantees success.
On December 9, 2011, Lt. Col. Chris “Otis” Raible, Commanding Officer of Marine Attack Squadron VMA 211, issued his commander’s guidance for the unit's AV-8B Harrier attack pilots.
It's well worth the short read—and sharing.
Lt. Col. Raible was killed in action on September 14, 2012, but his leadership legacy lives on in this memo.

LtCol Raible’s Commander’s Guidance is well worth the read.
First, let me provide you with some historical context that is near and dear to many, including myself: https://lnkd.in/gRz9uTgF
LtCol Raible’s Commander’s Guidance can be applied in any setting and situation. True leadership is transferable to any job, in any industry, military or civilian sector.
All 6 principles are direct and clear to the point. I, wholeheartedly believe them to all be of equal importance and value. From my personal observations of working in the civilian sector thus far, principle #6 is a definite opportunity to improve upon.
“When all else fades away, attack pilots have one mission: provide offensive air support for Marines.” This statement clearly identifies the main objective (“the job”) and who they support.
Can everyone in your organization clearly articulate their main objective and who they support?

Scott Mann highlights a critical issue that deserves our attention—technology, particularly drones, has the potential to transform security landscapes, not just through misuse but through deliberate weaponization. The implications are significant, especially for large-scale public events and critical infrastructure sites, where the impact of such threats can be catastrophic. As we continue to rely on advanced technology in various aspects of life, it’s imperative that we stay vigilant and ahead of these emerging threats.
This is not just about preparing for worst-case scenarios; it’s about being proactive in how we think about and counter these risks. Whether it’s enhancing security protocols, investing in counter-drone technology, or fostering public-private partnerships, the time to act is now.
The conversation around this issue needs to be ongoing, as the nature of these threats evolves. We must ensure that our defenses are just as dynamic. #PublicSafety#TechThreats#EventSecurity#CriticalInfrastructure
