Exciting news from Bengaluru! 🚀 Infurnia, the architecture and interior design SaaS startup, has secured $1.2 Mn in an angel funding round led by existing investor Yogesh Chaudhary, owner of Jaipur Rugs. This round also saw participation from prominent players like Ply Reporter, Surfaces Reporter, Coast to Coast, Greenply, and Ozone. With this, Infurnia's total angel funding reaches $4.9 Mn. The fresh funds will fuel market expansion and onboard market leaders in the interior industry. Infurnia aims to enhance its flagship design product and develop a manufacturing execution system software solution. Founded in 2014 by Nikhil Kumar and Lovepreet Mann, Infurnia offers cloud-native design software for architecture and interior design industries, catering to over 600 clients including LivSpace, Hometown, Purvankara, and Urban Ladder. Despite challenges, Infurnia has reached $1 Mn in annual recurring revenue. A couple of weeks ago, I wrapped up my time collaborating with Viome, a leader in microbiome health science and personalized health solutions (from at-home microbiome health tests, to custom-formulated supplements), and what a ride it has been! When you work with such an amazing team, time flies, and before you know it, you've built so many things together. From developing a design system (literally from zero!) that helped us cut the time it took to create entire pages in half, to designing everything from product pages to user journeys, A/B tests, AI-generated images, and even crafting their newsletters and consumer app—this collaboration has been one of the longest, greatest and most rewarding I’ve been part of. One thing I’ve learned throughout this journey? The magic of teamwork. Kevin confirmed with me that less really can be more. His calm and minimalist approach always helped us connect, talk about design, and keep things simple yet impactful. Helene was always there to support and brainstorm new ideas with the team. Laura and her constant support on calls, and especially my onboarding at the beginning, where I think we had worked the most together. David, the other contract designer I worked alongside, his awesome design aesthetics and his attention to detail helped us hit every milestone and delivered designs that I’m really proud of. So for everyone out there, I just want to share two things. The first one: when you get the chance to work on a long-term project, embrace it fully. You might not see the impact immediately, but in time, the bigger picture starts to emerge. Every design system, every A/B test, every page you tweak—it's all part of a larger story. Stick with it, because when you’re in it for the long haul, the results can truly be game-changing. The second one: Never work with someone you don’t want to become. So thanks again Kevin Woo, Helene Vollbracht, Laura Dykas, and David Ofiare. I’m feeling grateful today for the opportunity you gave me to learn from you, and the incredible work we’ve done. On to the next adventure!

There's been so many conversations like this on Design's death this year. But if our approach and work at ZeroSixty Design is anything to go by, design practices are maturing and evolving. It's easy to point at signs of Design's demise because: - What some teams / agencies used to sell no longer works - The working cultures they were comfortable in no longer exist - New tech and tools make them feel estranged from how they worked - The bar for the value clients expect is higher - The way results are measured are sharper - Many orgs over-indexed in the good times - The way design operated as a function has evolved Are all these changes a step forward. No, not always. In the last year alone, the way ZeroSixty has been working has led to some of the most fascinating and fun projects I've ever worked on. For the last two years, I have had the pleasure of working in various capacities with one of Creature strategic partners, BLOX. The last 9 months of that time, I worked as the Design Lead for their Free-Standing Emergency Department (FED) Program. Blox was founded in 2010 to pioneer the Design Manufacture Construct (DMC) methodology– becoming the first DMC OEM and DMC Tier 1 supplier. Now, it is the largest manufacturer of healthcare buildings in the US, with over 600 employees working in over 1 million square feet of manufacturing space and installing more than 10,000 medical modules. Together, Creature and Blox build innovative, high-performance healthcare buildings for the best healthcare systems across the country. While at Blox, I led an integrated team, including Creature design staff, to innovate the FED product from design to manufacturing and installation in the field. Our team worked on all aspects of 16 FEDs for HCA Healthcare, UHS, and Atrium Health. I am excited to leverage these experiences to continue developing Creature’s integrated building platform to seamlessly improve the lives of our employees and customers.
