Happy National Bacon Lovers Day from the Over The Moon Cleaning Co. Team! Did you know that National Bacon Lovers Day, celebrated every year on August 20th, is a day dedicated to honoring everyone’s favorite crispy, savory treat? This delicious day has an interesting history, tied closely to the internet and social media. The Origin Story: National Bacon Lovers Day officially started in 2015, thanks to the buzz generated online. A viral video featuring a mouthwatering bacon-wrapped grilled cheese sandwich sparked a wave of enthusiasm, leading to the establishment of this special day. Since then, bacon fans have embraced August 20th as the perfect excuse to indulge in all things bacon and share their love online! A Slice of History: But bacon’s story goes back much further. The Chinese were salting pork bellies as early as 1500 BCE, creating the earliest form of bacon. The Romans also enjoyed their own version called “petaso,” which they seasoned and boiled to perfection. In the U.S., bacon became a household staple in the 1920s, thanks to Oscar Mayer, who revolutionized bacon by introducing pre-sliced, packaged bacon. This made it more convenient and readily available, solidifying its place in American kitchens. So, today we celebrate the rich history and cultural significance of bacon! Whether you’re trying out a new recipe or enjoying your classic favorite, let’s take a moment to appreciate this beloved meat. What is your favorite bacon-y thing? Tell us in the comments!

Doing Something fun with Dad on the go this weekend- Check this deal out: Wendy’s Has a Father’s Day BOGO for Bacon Lovers One for you, and one for dad. Reminder: Father's Day is this Sunday, June 16. If you haven't gotten your dad anything special yet, that's okay. You can always take him to Wendy's. The fast food spot announced it's offering a buy-one-get-one-free deal on its Baconators just in time for Father's Day. But the deal isn't just good for Sunday — it will be available Friday and Saturday too, so you can celebrate with your pop all weekend long. As our friends at People reported, the deal is valid through an in-app offer, though you must have a registered Wendy's account to get it. (Luckily, it's free and easy to sign up.) Finally, fans can try the Pretzel Baconator, made with all the same fixings on a pretzel bun. If you're really hoping to make it a special day, you can pair your Baconators with Wendy's new Frosty flavor, the Triple Berry Frosty, which is a sweet combination of blackberry, raspberry, and strawberry flavors. Grab it while you can — like most of Wendy's Frosty flavors (sans the classic chocolate), this one is likely to be available for a limited time. And don't all dads deserve a special treat?
