Meet Mallory Knight, a motivated junior business administration major pursuing her degree online. #ThumbsUpThursday for evolving #Identity Yesterday, I conducted one of the weekly Body And Mind Mastery (BAMM!) sessions for a group of UOB bankers. The growth topic of the week is Our Minor Selves - alternative selves or selves we are nourishing as we evolve. Grateful for the engaged UOB team, led by Kevin Lim, CFA ****** By coincidence, I was emailed a reminder to renew my memberships for both CFA and CAIA. I passed the exams in 2001 and 2007 respectively. Every year, I pay the fees diligently. Why? Because they are credible practitioners’ marks. Arguably, it signals commitment to the profession and the diligence to pursue understanding of the relevant knowledge. I will stop paying this year. I shall no longer renew. And I will drop these marks. ****** Why? I asked this question: “Do investment professionals who know me think I am credible in these topics?” Perhaps folks new to me may wonder. I believe that the 27 years industry experience at some of the leading institutions would be salient in any conversation. I found my LinkedIn name a tad amusing. The identities here: 1) my formal name 2) my nickname 3) charters and certifications Amusing because more letters appear for (3) now than (1) & (2) combined! Time to Marie Kondo it. 🎓 A New Chapter Begins 🎓 I am beyond thrilled and incredibly proud to share that I have graduated with my Master of Professional Business Analysis. This milestone marks not just the completion of an academic journey, but the beginning of a new chapter in my personal and professional life. Relocating to a new country to pursue my Masters was both a daunting and exciting experience. It challenged me in ways I never imagined — from discovering new cultures to understanding my own strengths and weaknesses. Throughout this journey, I have learned the importance of persistence, adaptability, and growth. One of the most rewarding aspects of this experience has been the opportunity to work alongside brilliant minds, collaborate with incredible lecturers, and grow in ways that have exceeded my expectations. None of this would have been possible without the unwavering support of my family, who traveled all the way from Malaysia to be here with me. Their presence at my graduation was a beautiful reminder of how lucky I am to have such a strong and supportive network of people in my life. As we step into a new year, I find myself reflecting on the progress made and the lessons learned. I am filled with gratitude and excitement for the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.
