SAP Candidates MUST speak German, do not apply if you are not fluent 🇩🇪 This is something that we hear almost everyday from our clients and as recruiters believe me we wish that this was not the case. While major cities like Berlin, Munich, and Frankfurt are more cosmopolitan and international, many SAP end clients are located in deeper parts of Germany—industrial hubs, manufacturing plants, or specialised service centres outside urban areas. In these regions, the SAP end users (the employees who actually use the system day-to-day) often speak only German. Whether it’s warehouse staff, production teams, or office administrators, fluency in German ensures: - Clear communication: Complex SAP processes require precise instructions and user training. Language barriers can lead to costly errors. - Effective change management: Implementing or upgrading SAP systems is about more than technology—it’s about getting people to adopt new ways of working. Speaking the local language helps build trust and collaboration. - Better user support: Onsite troubleshooting and system optimisation require an understanding of local nuances—both in language and culture. For consultancies, hiring consultants with C1-level German proficiency isn’t just about ticking a box it’s about delivering successful SAP projects where everyone involved can fully engage. In short: No matter how tech-savvy the consultant is, language matters when it comes to SAP projects in Germany. 🇩🇪
