THE NEW WAVE OF MUSIC!!!!! 🎶 •DIL-LUMINATI TOUR You people might be aware that Diljit Dosanjh recently announced his India tour, and fans have gone crazy!! 🤪 Everyone on social media is just talking about this. •Tickets nationwide got sold out within a few minutes, and this is a new wave of pop culture where the concert market is growing exponentially and is expected to continue to grow over $50 billion by the end of 2030.💰 •But how has the Indian economy benefited from this? Global concerts are huge; whenever these kinds of tours get announced, the entire city’s tourism and economy rise by percentages as malls, hotels, restaurants, and flight tickets get overbooked, and hence prices go up. ⬆️ •It’s amazing to see how growth in one market sector can lead to growth in other sectors too. P.S- I soo badly want to attend his concert 😭 #EconomicGrowth #Concertmarket #IndianEconomy #DiljitDosanjh #DilLuminatiTour

🎤 Do Musical Concerts Like the Dil-Luminati India Tour Add Economic Value? 🎶 Absolutely, but there are pros and cons. Here’s a look at the numbers: Positive Impact: 🔸 Tourism & Hospitality: Large events can increase hotel bookings by 15-20%, with fans spending an average of ₹5,000-₹10,000 ($60-$120) per day on accommodation, food, and local travel. In 2023, India's live events industry generated around ₹9,000 crores ($1.1 billion) in revenue. 🔸 Job Creation: A major tour can create 1,500+ temporary jobs per concert in event management, catering, and security, contributing to the livelihood of thousands. 🔸 Revenue for Local Businesses: Businesses near the venue can see foot traffic increase by 30-40%, leading to additional sales of ₹2-3 crores ($240,000-$360,000) during the event period. 🔸 Entertainment Growth: The live entertainment market in India is expected to grow at a CAGR of 15% to reach ₹10,000 crores ($1.2 billion) by 2025. Major concerts can generate ₹50-60 crores ($6-7 million) in ticket sales and merchandise. 🔸 Tax Revenue: Concerts contribute significantly through GST, entertainment tax, and licensing fees, often totaling over ₹2-3 crores ($240,000-$360,000) per event. Challenges: 🔻 Environmental Impact: A single concert can generate up to 5-6 tons of waste and significant CO2 emissions due to travel and energy use. 🔻 Traffic & Noise: Events often cause traffic congestion, with 25-30% higher travel times in nearby areas, and noise levels exceeding 85 decibels, disturbing residents. 🔻 Economic Inequality: High ticket prices (₹2,500-₹15,000 or $30-$180) can limit access to higher-income audiences, making concerts less inclusive. While these events bring substantial economic benefits, it’s essential to address environmental and social challenges through sustainable practices. 🌍🎟️ What’s your take? Are the benefits worth the trade-offs? #DiljitDosanjh #DilLuminatiTour #EconomicImpact #SustainableEvents #MusicConcert #Tourism #EntertainmentEconomy #LiveEvents

Coldplay upcoming concert in Ahmedabad, part of their Music of the Spheres World Tour. Following their previous sell-out in Mumbai, their Ahmedabad concert at the Narendra Modi Stadium on January 25, 2025, has sparked a frenzy. 🎙️I felt incredibly lucky when I got the ticket for Diljit Dosanjh's Mumbai concert in one go. But December had different plans for me, unfortunately I fractured my leg a few days back. My friends are suggesting me to attend the concert in a wheelchair. I'm about to ask my doctor if it’s a good idea to go with a plaster on. I already know his answer, but let’s be honest—I still really want to go! 😂 🎶 On a bigger note, the Indian live entertainment industry is booming like never before! From international tours to homegrown music festivals, the demand for live performances is skyrocketing. 📈 India's entertainment and media industry is projected to grow at a combined annual growth rate (CAG) of 8.3% to hit USD 19.2bn outpacing global rate of 4.6%, according to PWC India's report "Global Entertainment and Media Outlook 2024-28: India perspective" 💸 With rising disposable incomes, millennials and Gen Z are prioritizing experiences over material purchases, driving a vibrant concert culture. Global icons are now making India a key stop on their tours, and regional music is finally getting the attention it deserves. The future of live events in India has never looked more electrifying! #ConcertCulture #LiveEntertainment #DiljitDosanjh #EventIndustry #EntertainmentBoom

In the era of FOMO and live experiences, Concert tourism has become a vibrant niche! Right after Coldplay's concert dates were announced, the tickets (Rs 7,000 and Rs 30,000) were already sold out for Indonesia, Taiwan, Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore. In fact at the Bangkok concert, Indians were reportedly the 2nd biggest audience group in attendance, after the Thais themselves. Interestingly, a recent Travel Trends report from Skyscanner also found that: 37% of Indian fans would fly short distances to hear their favourite tracks live, while 20% said they are also ready to commit to long distances too. But, why is concert tourism booming lately? With pandemic lockdowns leaving us starved for live music and Gen Z's "You Only Live Once" attitude in full swing, hitting up overseas gigs has become the ultimate adventure that no one wants to miss. According to StubHub's latest report, a whopping 60% of GenZs are even willing to ditch major life events and spend a fortune just to snag front-row tickets to their fave artists' shows. What surprises me even further is how this demography is just not restricted to the metro population of India. These concerts were able to attract a fair share of people even from tier 2, 3 cities busting the myth for lack of spending power of the youth or the GenZ’s living here. I personally like the growing trend of concerts reaching tier 2 and tier 3 cities, breaking away from the conventional metro-centric model a lot. Which Tier 2 and 3 cities are the next budding metros in India according to you? #concerts #erastour #coldplayconcerts #events #experiences

The recent frenzy over booking tickets for #Coldplay and #DiljitDosanjh concerts says a lot about where India is headed—and how we’re choosing to spend our money these days. It’s clear that as income levels rise, Indians aren’t just working hard, they’re spending big on experiences. Gone are the days when only a select few could afford to attend concerts. Now, if you’re not glued to your phone at midnight, desperately trying to snag a ticket, you’re practically out of the loop. This shift is pretty telling. It’s no longer just about saving for a house or a car—today, the real status symbol is being able to say you were there, belting out “Fix You” with Coldplay or vibing to “G.O.A.T” with Diljit. If your weekend plans don’t include going to some epic concert and showing off your experience on Instagram, are you even living your best life? It’s also a clear sign of India’s growing wealth. People are willing to spend a small fortune on tickets, travel, and maybe even a designer outfit just for that one perfect concert selfie. And honestly, who can blame them? In a world where memories are the new currency, being part of these live experiences has become the ultimate luxury. Plus, what’s the point of earning well if you don’t get to scream your lungs out at a Coldplay gig or groove at a Diljit show? So, the next time you find yourself refreshing that ticketing page for hours, just remember—you’re not wasting money, you’re investing in an #experience. And if nothing else, at least the selfies will last forever. #bookmyshow #spending #incomelevel #youth #economy

How much is the Indian GenZ spending on live concerts? Dua Lipa’s second concert in India happening today is likely to exceed a total revenue of ₹250 million. 💰 Expected to draw 30,000 attendees, ticket prices range from ₹2,999 to ₹25,000. 💰 The global concert industry is booming, with revenues projected to surpass $30 billion by 2025. 💰In India, 2023 saw ticket sales surge, with many spending ₹5,000–₹10,000 per event. ☞ Young Indians, especially Gen Z, are prioritizing experiences, often splurging on concerts as a “status symbol” ☞ Fans are even turning to inflated black-market prices, further fueling the industry’s growth. 💰 Globally, Gen Z spends $300–$500 annually on live events, though this varies based on region and income levels. ☻ Concerts offer unforgettable experiences, unite communities, and boost local economies. ☹︎ However, they come with high costs and environmental concerns due to waste and pollution.
