Kendall Ellis is proving that being a top athlete means more than just hours on the track. 🏃♀️👩💻✨ As a 2x Olympian and world record holder, Kendall’s career demands intense focus and discipline. But she’s learned that balancing life beyond athletics is just as important. Using Microsoft Copilot, she’s been tracking her well-being, discovering how time spent away from the sport fuels her performance. 📈 The data? Clear proof that life beyond the track isn’t a distraction — it’s a necessity for some athletes striving for their best. Kendall’s message to other athletes is simple: Embrace your own unique path to success and never feel guilty for having interests outside your sport. 💓 🔗 to the full story: https://lnkd.in/etqF76GT #ParityAthletePOV #Olympian #TrackAndField #Microsoft #MicrosoftCopilot #DataTracking #DataDriven

"Dropbox Dash is definitely high on our list of things we're motivated by—considering the sheer number of documents and tools we use, seeing that integrated across the organization will be fantastic. And for video, integrating Replay fully will allow us to streamline timelines and see comments in context without having to switch between different tools. Whether it's from a file sharing, collaboration, AI, or video editing standpoint, the team is really excited to get hands-on with Dropbox." -Ed Green, Head of Commercial Technology at McLaren Racing Read more on how the McLaren Racing F1 Team uses data to drive success on the Dropbox blog! ➡ According to reports, the AR & VR market is projected to generate revenue of about US$38.6bn in 2024. Moreover, this market is expected to grow at an annual rate of 10.77%, resulting in a projected market of US$58.1bn by 2028. Wow! But how we use and deploy AR/VR in this backdrop is another question. One such area of use is to support and develop lifelong skills with/for underserved groups (thinking here of people with disabilities). VR in this context can be very powerful and meaningful. But how do we get this to scale and be attuned/aligned to the needs of specific populations? Good question, right? 🔔 One way is to engage such groups in our product development cycle (and for me working in research) building their voices into our research plans. It’s simply not good enough that we neglect these important views and perspectives in our work (which has often the case; see our paper here: https://lnkd.in/g5vyKKEi). The value of VR to some of the groups we work with (i.e. autistic groups) can be very meaningful and powerful; and so, to have an initiative like the Employability and Life skills for SEN Learners Consortium is a great start to help share resources and discuss the best way to integrate and leverage VR for such groups. I’m excited to be at Metaverse Learning's kick of/launch event on Wednesday 6th March at 12 noon (UK time/7am EST) where you can: 👉 See immersive learning in action with demonstrations of virtual and augmented reality; 👉 Learn about the benefits of immersive learning for SEN students; 👉 Discover the advantages of becoming part of a consortia. ✔ Register here: https://lnkd.in/eXsFxTeP

The (second) most important day of the year is approaching! See you at Microsoft Business Applications Launch event (virtually) on 29th October? I'll definitely be there. Will you Vesa Nopanen [MVP] or Jukka Niiranen? And what's the very number one most important day of the year? For me, it's the grand opening of the winter swimming season - no matter if there's frozy lake or icy river or no ice nor snow nor minus Celsius degrees ;-) So what to expect next week? It's the deep dive into the new and enhanced AI capabilities included in the 2024 Release Wave 2. Microsoft (Charles Lamanna to be precise) will explore how the latest features of Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Microsoft Power Platform can help optimize operations. #copilot #sulavasti #lifelonglearning This post was not written nor rewritten with AI <3 - please comment if you will join the event (or winter swimming season)!

As we wrap up the 2024 Olympic Games there were some memorable things that stood out for me. It’s one thing to be inspired and be awestruck by the superhuman acts these olympians demonstrated, at the same time some of the strategies and techniques they use are accessible to you and I. “Imagination” that which separates us from animals. We have heard about visualizations before and it’s a practice that’s used by athletes. The thing that's fascinating is in some sports they can’t afford to practice for 10,000 hrs and they solely rely on visualization techniques. For example the winter Olympic sport of skeleton they only train for 5-10 mts few times a day due to the amount of stress to the body. They are few inches above the ice traveling at 90+ miles per hour. In the corners they experience a pressure similar to that in a fighter jet. If they have to practice 10,000 hrs it would take thousands of years. So they rely on focussed visualization. Key takeaway that we can adopt is when we focus and imagine the outcomes positively - key parts of our brain gets activated things like decision making, and problem solving are elevated. That helps us move towards the positive outcome we want. Have a great week ahead. #itsalwaysday1 #amazon #aws
