Chief Accountant required For Mazars: Mostafa Shawki Location: Cairo Main responsibilities: · Coordinate and supervise the accounting team in the preparation of daily journal entries. · Prepare quality daily operation controls for bookkeeping performance. · Support the accounting team in the preparation of monthly financial statements (P&L, BS, and cash flow) and the issuance of other required reports. · Monitor and control the closing of books on a monthly basis and ensure recognition within timelines. · Work for continuous improvement in monthly closing activities to ensure quality financials. · Ensure compliance with local GAAP principles. · Supervise the conversion of the financial statement from local GAAP to IFRS. · Supervise the preparation and filling of statutory books. ·Coordinate external audits by providing relevant explanations and schedules to auditors and ensuring smooth completion. · Coordinate with the team to ensure that the auditor's requirements are being provided in a timely and accurate manner. Skills: · Strong knowledge about accounting, finance, auditing, and tax law, including accounting and auditing standards. · should be able to plan and prioritize tasks, have persuasive skills, and be a self-motivated and strong team player. · Good communication and presentation skills. · Fluent English, verbal and written. Reflecting on my role as a Project Manager overseeing the implementation of UAE VAT for a large MNC with 11 group companies, I am reminded of the challenges we faced and conquered together. Navigating the complexities of VAT implementation in a dynamic market like the UAE was no small feat. Coordinating across 11 group companies with diverse business operations and different IT systems (SAP, Tally, Orion) presented unique challenges. From aligning financial systems and processes to educating and training teams across different departments, each step was a learning experience. One of the key challenges was ensuring compliance while minimizing disruption to day-to-day operations. We had to carefully plan and execute changes to financial systems, accounting practices, and customer-facing processes to seamlessly integrate VAT requirements. Another challenge was managing stakeholder expectations. Effective communication and engagement were crucial to ensure that everyone, from senior management to front-line staff, understood the changes and their roles in the implementation process. Despite the challenges, I am proud of what we achieved as a team. Through collaboration, dedication, and a shared commitment to excellence, we successfully implemented UAE VAT across all 11 group companies, ensuring compliance, minimizing risks, and positioning the organization for future growth. I am grateful for the opportunity to have led such a challenging and rewarding project. Updated the SAP system and maintained transaction records. Followed up on outstanding invoices and resolved discrepancies with vendors. 🔹Expense Report Analysis: Analyzed last month’s expense reports, categorized expenses, identified trends, and prepared a summary report highlighting key findings and potential cost reduction areas. Updated SAP with accurate and categorized expense data. 🔹Fixed Asset Management: Updated the fixed asset register, verified physical presence, and ensured proper tagging and recording.
